Hey Tom, new sub here. Fun concept with your channel! I like the fact that you not only show the campsites, but also do the "tour" videos like the one of Myakka River SP. We used to live right down the road from there, in Lakewood Ranch right off SR-70. Excellent videography in 4K. And you're definitely right, plenty of gators out there (and in Lakewood Ranch)! Keep up the fine work.

I've been visiting that park on vacation since 1973, I'm 51 years old now, live out of state, both my parents have recently passed, but my family memories will live on forever. My wife and I along with our son also made many memories in Myakka River State Park as we watched our son grow up. Great park to enjoy for the day or a week camping. Great video, thank you.

Wonderful. We started at Johnathan Dickinson State Park in 1976. We ended in the Keys 37 years later. It was a good run😀

Loved the tour! The personal story at the end was a nice touch. We also start our camping history at Myakka. My in-laws let us take their 26 ft class c motor home and suggested that we go there for a short weekend stay to get use to it before taking it out on some longer trips. We enjoyed and went back several times. Now my daughters and their families are enjoying their time there. We have just purchased a TT and are looking forward to a return to Myakka after a 15 year hiatus from camping.

Hi Tom, As you are aware, I really enjoy the videos you put out. Very informative and appreciated. Thanks to you assisting , I am making reservations every 4 to 6 weeks as I suspect campgrounds after making my first reservation two days ago for " Rainbow River State Park" during the Special kids Christmas celebration of Santa and all coming down the river on the pantoon, the park lit up with Christmas lights, story time for the kids and more. What a perfect gift for my grandchildren. I reserved a 4 day camping trip in a pop up camper for them and they will take my motorized Gheenoes, aquatic tubes, snorkeling gear sets, fishing gear , cameras, gazebo and a bunch of stuff. Kinda makes me jealous but I don't want my grandchildren missing out on that. I believe there is only one campsite available now for this time frame if a viewer wants it. The Christmas activities for the children are only being held the two weekends before Christmas. It is a campsite that should be grabbed for a perfect weekend with santa. The 50% off I get off is awesome for a weekend for the kids as well. The reservations at state parks take so long to get in is the reason that I am reserving every 4 to 6 weeks. This is the only bad thing is waiting so long. It was not like this when I was a kid at all.

Hiya, This clickable web link I am posting below my comment helps determine what State parks have what. Tom normally does put campsite information in his videos as well. But if you go to the website I am putting below, fill in " ✓ " check marks in the boxes of what you want in the state park, by the time you fill in the check marks, the website gives you a list of parks that have exactly what you want. After you do that, come back and check toms videos on the state park that you opted to give you further details. Tom covers all the state parks pretty much. This is just a suggestion. Now what I found with the really nice State parks that has what I want, reservations unfortunately can take 6 to 11 months to get in a spot as the campsites fill up way in advanced. So basically plan way ahead. State parks that do not offer much or things I really don't want, usually has more availability but they to fill up fast. I just reserved a 4 day weekend trip but the soonest availability is 6 months from now. When you reserve through " Reserve America" , one thing the website does not say is you pay for the whole stay the moment you reserve and you pay the reservation fee also. The website makes a person think that you only pay for the reservation fee up front, that is not the case. Here below is the website where you can put check marks in the options to find exactly what you want. www.floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails

@@CampTravelExplore I would say as you're introducing the campground in the beginning you include a map with the major cities in view. I believe Map Quest will let you put a marker for the precise location.

This is one of my favorite. SPs- but the concession is privately owned. They are such a rip off!Terrible cheap food sold at a very high price, and extremely small portions. And no body there no’s how to cook that garbage they serve! I don’t know how they get away with ripping people off like that! Oh yea,and if they run out of something that’s supposed to go on the dish, they still charge you the same outrageous price. There not getting anymore of my business!
