As a non-native speaker of the English language, I am afraid I have no other way to better express my feelings towards this video than saying it is fucking amazing and that Cristopher Lee rocks.

True legends never die. Sir Christopher Lee will live forever as a man who gave life to countless characters, but most important as a great man himself. One (if not THE) greatest men in cinema history.

This is my favorite recitation of "The Raven" of all those found on this site and others. It just sounds right with a British accent, especially when recited by the great Christopher Lee.

Great poem but wow what a reading. Chris lee, what a voice! I feel it really added tot the story as a whole; exactly what a narrator should do. Very impressed all round.

This poem always made me laugh. At its most basic, it's about a guy trying to get a raven out of his bedroom. That's part of the reason I always loved Poe :)

The Raven is a classic short tale of horror from Poe, also combined with the deep, narrating voice of Christopher Lee?! So epic. I should download this to my iPhone. :3
@rainbowstalin41159 жыл бұрын
MiyuChan It's not an horror tale (I wouldn't say it's "horror" even if it was a tale), it's a poem that best depicts Poe's addition to the romanticist movement. The bird comes from his own interior, it's his soul. The answer to if he will ever see his loved Leonor again doesn't come from reason but from himself. And the answer is a nihilistic and terrible "nevermore".
@rodrigogbahia9 жыл бұрын
Rainbow Stalin Interesting, even if it comes from "his soul" and not from reason, I would say it comes from the tormented soul of a rational man, who tries to convince himself otherwise, but understands (in pain) there is no religious relief for our losses in the material world. Things/people are taken aways from us - for evermore. Tell this soul with sorrow laden if, within the distant Aidenn, It shall clasp a sainted maiden whom the angels name Lenore. (...) Quoth the Raven, “Nevermore.”

My ever growing love for the moving poems of Edgar..Allen..Poe. but this one in itself has made me rethink the thought of all that will remain nevermore. The sorrow for my lost Lenore is as real to me as the feeling of the Lenore for Poe. I have a stilled beating heart that's has been taken away with all that is nevermore.
