The poem is fantastic, but Lee's voice take it to another level.

Christopher Lee has the perfect voice to read Poes works. It's just creepy enough it fits perfectly.

Christopher Lee was the perfect person to narrate Poe. Now they are both legends in death.

Sir Christopher Lee makes a simple narrative interesting and compelling; no matter how frightening it sounds, you still feel bound to listen to his voice that gives the story life, and you want to know how the latter will end....
@sfperalta Жыл бұрын
Just riveting! The gradual accompaniment of music to Lee's sonorous voice contributed to the sense of horror felt by the narrator. What an excellent work and performance!

I was always confused by the description of the room, is it a small room with a pit in the middle and he is suspended on such a hammock on the pit with the pendulum above him or what?
@faranlucavi16734 жыл бұрын
He describes a large room, with absolutely no light. He stumbles around several yards until he finds the wall. He walks a fee more yards and falls, with most of his head hanging over a deep pit. He drinks drugged water and passes out. After he wakes, he's tied to a wooden table in a dimly lit room. The bladed pendulum is slowly swinging and descending, he can do nothing but watch.
@taphorphicexonyct4 жыл бұрын
Faran Lucavi I see, I thought the room was smaller than it is and so i was confused as to how they would fit the pit and the pendulum and the wooden frame he was strapped to all in one place, thanks I hadn’t considered that idea

This story embodies no entertainment, for a good night. This story, as the others from Poe, fathoms the deepest recesses in the intrinsic Evil of the World, which his genius unveiled.
