Just got out of the hospital from this yesterday. Haven’t eaten in three days and have never had worse stomach pains on my life. I called it quits when my stool was bloody. Absolutely excruciating torture

This was the worst shit I’ve ever been sick with. A week of the worst torture of my life. Internal bleeding, pain from beyond this world and no appetite for 5-6 days. God bless anyone’s soul whoever gets this

Hey, I also had this. I had all the same symptoms. I started to recover after a month. This was the worst month in my life. My stomach was sensitive, so i was recommended mild food and also not too much, because I also had very bad appetite

Yes, I was told that I would recover quickly. I was told from the doctor that earlier infected patients recovered fully. I have been looking for all the information I could find, and this infection seems to be very common. You probably got this from contaminated chicken. Any idea ?

I've just had this and it lasted almost 2 agonising weeks of not having an appetite and feeling sick with as you said the other main symptom. I was quarantined as I was already in hospital with pericarditis and a lung and urine infection so I am pretty unlucky.

@Suhani yes its easily treatable you just need lots of rest and fluids. You'll know if you've got it. Theres nothing else like it. I had blood in my stool and my first thought was the most obvious and extreme, the big C. Glad it is treatable.

I just got released from the hospital today(May 16th 2024) from having it and thought it was salmonella. I couldn't sleep at all for 2 days and had cold shivers and hot flashes and bad diarrhea. I knew it was from the old eggs in my fridge that I ate on sunday. I never really thought much of raw poultry or raw eggs. Now I know it's nothing to mess around with.

11 days in and the diarrhoea has finally slowed down.just been put on hi dose antibiotics.horrendous constant abdominal cramps. Horrendous experience.

Just come out of hospital after having had this. I was so sick because of this and because I haven’t been eating very well and couldn’t eat while I was unwell my phosphate levels crashed to critically low levels and I was hospitalised and had a phosphate IV. I thought I was having a stroke / epilepsy because I developed slurred speech and neurological symptoms including fits/seizures and nystagmus and involuntary movements. I am now on my 4th day after having been in hospital and my speech and coordination is improving. I was very very sick…. This type of food poisoning can be very very dangerous! I’m terrified of eating at KFC - convinced it was a KFC rice / salad box I had a couple of weeks ago 😰

Bonjour. Moi aussi, je souffre de cette bactérie depuis plus d'un mois. J'ai un peu de fièvre, des crises et des malaises de tachycardie tous les deux jours (mon coeur bat à 170 pulsations par minute soudainement), ma tension artérielle monte très haut avec ces malaises (20/12), je manque d'air. Depuis un jour seulement, je prends des antibiotiques. Cette bactérie a été détectée dans mes selles... après un grand mois de souffrance. C'est pourtant pas compliqué de faire analyser des selles, non ?

I wish to commend you in your accuracy. I am currently suffering from a C. Jejuni infection and have been ill for 4 days. I have of course no idea of how I may have contracted it. I have all the symptoms you have outlined, and no my diarrhoea shows NO signs of bllood! Thus either it is occult or just not bloody at all. It has been frequent and somewhat nocturnal with countless inconvient trips to the loo. I have see my GP and had both a blood and stool cultute taken and the former showed up negative however the stool sample had shown up positive for CJ. From what I have learned online (because I have been experiencing this myself) I found that I may have to sustain another day to four more days. I only hope that I don't get that Guilline Barre Syndrome or other neuropathic complications. I heard that such is less than 50% anyway. Thus it is mostly this unpleasand very painful gut pain and cramping, weakness and this nasty persistent brown watery Backside brown water.

Thank God I just happened to get a blood and stool test a few days before I became ill. So the doctor already knew I had the bacteria. I literally started eating chicken only this month! Usually I'm vegan! I'm never eating chicken again
