Camshaft Position Sensor - Volkswagen Polo Mk4

Removing and replacing the camshaft position sensor on a 2002 to 2009 Volkswagen Polo 9N with the four cylinder 1.4 litre petrol engine. Some of the most common faulty crankshaft position sensor symptoms are: an illuminated check engine light, the engine won’t start or it stalls, the engine misfires or runs roughly and you might have reduced fuel economy. If the check engine light comes on due a faulty camshaft position sensor, the most common engine code you will find is P0341. If you’re renewing the sensor, the part number is 036907601D. When i remove my polo camshaft sensor there is no oil residue..it looks dry. Is it a bad sign? Please help
