Nice video tutorial of Camtasia 9. I upgraded from Camtasia 8, but 9 is a BIG upgrade. Thank you for creating such an affordable product and giving us a great upgrade price. I love the new interface and 64-bit engine, this new version is really fast. It is very stable on my PC and now gives me a much better workflow. The free updates you gave us for Camtasia 8 all the way to version 8.6 is the best in the software industry. Keep up the good work!

Hello. Thank you for your wonderful explanation. Lately, when I add a behaviour to a text I write on top of a recording, the behaviour plays in the recording also, even if it is only on the text. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Thank you very much.

This is only a guess, but it could be, that when you drag it to the timeline you have both the annotation (text) as well as the video recording layers selected so it's dropping onto both layers instead of just the one. And if it does that, you can open the properties panel for the recording, and delete the behavior. Hopefully that helps!

Is there a way to save a custom annotation as a template? I have a lot of videos that I need to add annotations to, but I don't want to have to re-create the look of it every time. Can it be done?

On windows? If so you can strip away everything except the object with the custom annotation. Save it to the library. Then you can add that to any project.

I sometimes use Movavi video editor and I enjoy some features it has. For example: During working on a project, it displays the duration of how long the video/slide show going to last. Also, Movavi allows the user to manually add transitions just as Camtasia. However, you can have the program apply all it's available transitions and do a random selection. I wish Camtasia had allow such doings because it would save time and remove some guess work. Here is the download link if you not yet aware of it: www.movavi.com/

You can create custom introductions. In terms of how to make one, it depends on what you want to include in your introduction. Do you want text, video, animations? I think a good place to start would be taking a look at some of our tutorials. I made a video with a lot of transitions (try my best to keep it minimal but I need it to look good). It's a 3 minutes fullHD mp4 video, and the output file size is over 100mb. I thought it was a lot. Is that normal? how is it compare to other professional programs?

Unfortunately there aren't behaviors in version 8. That was introduced after we released Camtasia 9. If you'd like access to those features it will require upgrading your software. You can find that effect in Camtasia under "Annotations" and then the fourth tab over that has the squiggly line as the icon (hover over it and it should say "Animations that draw on screen over a period of time") tab. Those can all be customized by skewing the size and changing the color.

Transitions aren't dependent on internet connection, no. Just make sure the clips you're using are touching one another. Also, if you start at the VERY beginning or end of a clip you may need to trim the clip back a bit to give it space for the transition to work.

Frustrated! How do you type in the RGB numeric values for annotation text? I don't want to select from the color palette. I want to type in the numeric RGB numbers. Every time I try and type an RGB number, the number replaces my text! GRRRRRRRRR! I should be able to to simply click in the red RGB field box and type in a number then repeat for the green field and blue field. But nope! The color box disappears or the RGB number I type in replaces my text. Then, there is no detailed help. You cant search for "Text Color" and get help just on text color. You have to wade through information that does not relate to your question.

What do you mean by turn things around? Do you want to flip the video? (In the properties panel, use the rotation option Y will flip the video or image, X will tilt forward or back, and Z will turn it upside down or a typical spin. Make it play in reverse (can't do it). Click on the video/image/object you want to flip, and open the properties panel on the right (just above the timeline). Then adjust the X, Y, and Z properties. You can flip without turning it upside down.

Sorry if that wasn't covered, to change the text, you click on the annotation that allows text on the canvas, and then type the text. Think of where you preview your video as a canvas where you can make many changes directly.

Hello, at this time it's not possible to produce a video without a watermark until you purchase a license. Once you do so, you'll be able to unlock your trial installation using the software key you receive. You can then re-produce the same project without the water mark.
