When I first started playing fps's I learned that standing still is a death sentence. I started watching Arge and saw that he stands still quite a lot when lining up shots. I started mimicking his playstyle and got soooo much better with Hanzo... except against Widow, don't stand still in front of her.

its mostly because with most characters you can just fire in a general direction and get some value, with hanzo he really needs to focus almost entirely on his aim and not on his moves. so moving can mess you up a lot.

This rule is variable. You want to prefer your aim accuracy over movement if you can kill them faster than they can kill you.

The most likely reason he cancels the storm arrows is because they do less damage. With boosted stats, it probably doesnt matter, but it is most likely muscle memory from regular games, where sometimes that longer fire speed is better for the higher damage

That's great but being a one trick has its disadvantages. In this case, pharah, genji, tracer, sometimes widow, dva, ashe, bap, moira, and kiriko. If your other dps is not a hitscan you'll have a bad time.

Watch Arrge's videos explaining his playstyle. He plays Assassin Hanzo. Lots of sneaky flanks, only peaks when he has to. Hanzo's best when his enemies aren't aware of him. Arrge's accuracy is over 70%. And he's amazing to watch. Lot's of nice frags.

To be fair to the bronzes I think they realized that their key to victory was distraction. They didn't have to kill him, only delay him. I think thats why they went with picks that required him to move his focus. We saw the sym and torb turrents delay him so that the rein could move in and pressure him later into the match. They only killed him a few times but each time they did it was because they exhausted his resources and pushed him into a corner where he couldn't escape.

I mean, that’s the point of those characters and in a competitive setting you do what you have to to win. Sometimes you learn it’s better to switch than stay getting dominated. Players who can’t adjust to switch stay hard stuck silver most of the time

Nah, it's 100% the correct play except the torb Turrets deny space much like what reinhardt does, and in case of symm it also slows him down which screws with his muscle memory a lot(people usually aim with movement too) Plus small target is a great addition for a single target sniper like hanzo

The bronze players played it so smart, symmetra for some extra lasers, thorbjörn for the turret, reinhardt for shield, that is 4 extra targets for the hanzo to try shoot down while trying to take down reinhardts shield to get to the squishies, but then they switched to other tanks that could just be 2-shotted and he could choose to pick the squishies whenever he wanted 🙂 Just an awesome Hanzo player

One thing that would be interesting is to see how well bronzes would do with like a high level coach, like telling them no the Lucio speed boost is not going to cause Arrge of all people to miss shots… but having a zen reduces his effective health by 30%. Maybe like bronzes vs. silvers but with a top 500 in the bronze’s coms who can spectate any of them.

It feels like (with my low knowledge of Hanzo) that him popping and cancelling Storm Arrows at odd times is to use it as a finishing tool after things like body shots on tanks or other hard targets / bursting unaware targets down before reaction, and cancelling early to keep the better base arrow damage / securing the desired kill and trying to get it back sooner

It wouldn’t work as well as most other characters. Hanzo barley works because (especially with Arge), he plays by picking players off when they’re distracted. He couldn’t do that here because he was the only target, but Hanzo has enough mobility in his kit to adapt, especially with the higher stats. Widow doesn’t have many mobility options, and she doesn’t have many damage options. Just the grappling hook(which wouldn’t take you far when fighting 5 different players) and the venom mine(which isn’t doing anything against an entire team). A Widow would have to snipe every single player from far away, and *then* move in the cap the point. Wouldn’t work well for the widow.

I think this would be easier for the one if they had the healing passive from the support class and / or two or three player push speed on cart Higher stats cant solve those core issues for any character, with the exception of sustain for supports and certain exceptions like reaper
