I think Stacy and Heather would benefit greatly from therapy together. Not necessarily for them to get back together, but since they have a child and clearly care about one another. I think it would help them both individually and together with communication and with co-parenting. I do believe they truly love each other and can make a friendship and co-parenting work very well, even if they never get back together. They need to continue the honesty journey and better, honest communication, and finding the right relationship/family therapist could really help them! I also want to encourage Stacy to try really hard to continue working on herself and having faith that the best can come into fruition so long as she focuses on living herself and being happy on her own- without needing ANYBODY else, and focusing on truly enjoying being a mother, and making sure she gets the help she needs for PPD, because it takes a long time to heal from and the body is always forever altered from birth, especially the first 5-7yrs (we keep our baby's DNA in us forever!). I do think Heather truly loves her, and I think they both need that of Stacy. And Heather should focus on the honest communication in the meantime within therapy and how she can be a support without resorting to easier habits. Those two can be happy in the future, regardless of how their family looks, and I wish the best for them!

I had the same issue with my ex as the black couple. I felt like his friends were more of a priority to him than I was even though I would drive 2 hours to him almost every weekend. He had cancelled on me two times in a row and we only got to see each other intimately every 2 weeks because he got his daughter every other weekend. It just became too much for me to handle, especially because of the distance.

@@opaliatzs the box is like an intense way of getting people acquainted with each other. Instead of going on 5 different dates or losing someone compatible because of failure to follow through with the awkward phases you knock all that out in one sitting in the box. Also, what hindered quite a few couples was an immediate dissatisfaction with their looks, matching with someone or doing an ordeal like that- that puts you with someone you know you'd give a chance can avert all that.

Heather seems like a really precious person
@wb624 Жыл бұрын
Stacy and Heather need to go to marriage counseling. They brought a child into the world and don't know how to handle parenthood and keeping their marriage alive. Heather seems to not understand what postpartum depression can be like and how real it can be, thats basically what I got from what Stacy was saying. Heather being the partner that did not carry the child should have educated herself on what postpartum can be like and should have been that medium to help her spouse get help when she needed it. Marriage to a lot of people seems to mean nothing, you vow for better or worse, sick and in health, richer or poorer, life will have trials and you have to be able to work through those trials together. It just seems to me that when sh*t got real Heather couldn't deal with it and thats on her. Ending the marriage and getting in new relationships is not going to change anything the "spark" will die out in other relationships as well. Marriage isn't about keeping the "sparks" going, its about keeping the embers lit and you do need to add some fuel to keep the fire going and keep producing embers.

I highly recommend the book ‘Atlas of the Heart’ by Brené Brown to everyone!!! She designed it to help expand the scope of people’s languages when it comes to emotions, thinking, behaviors, and experiences. It’s an emotional tool kit every single person needs in their life!!! It’s intended to aid your understanding of yourself and to have the tools to communicate them (your feelings) to the people in your life. Highly, highly recommend it!!

I really didn’t like how she answered the question about how he can improve sexually (basically that he was bad at giving head). She knew the whole time she didn’t want to get back together with him, so what was the point of saying that in front of thousands of people? He can’t use that kind of feedback considering she doesn’t want to be more than friends and his technique could be perfect for the next woman he’s with. A more appropriate thing to say would’ve been “you need to listen to your partner when they tell you what they want,” if that was the root of the issue. Otherwise what she said was just mean and not useful.

@@elainecary2884 I’d usually be the last one to come to the defense of a woman who seemingly doesn’t communicate her sexual desires/needs appropriately (disclaimer for my own sanity lol), but maybe she just didn’t have anything else. Taking everything at face value, it just seems that she finds them incompatible and he’s still pining for her in some way. In that case there could be nothing else to work on other than that one small aspect, which is great for his future cause all of that can be improved with communication (or, as you said, his technique could be perfect for the next person). You can’t fix incompatibility, but he can work and that and sounds like he is or is at least willing to
@theclockworkheart2 жыл бұрын
@@elainecary2884 She was shocked that he was still in love with her, though. She had no idea that was his aim or that he was still pining for her, so I don't think she thought she was kicking him while he was down. Their incompatibility was obvious to her, and she thought it was mutual after their amicable break up. Moreover, he was the one who invited her there, and then she got blindsided by the fact that he never got over her and was using this as couples therapy. I feel bad for both of them, but especially her; that's a hell of a way for an ex to misread the breakup and her feelings, and put her in the awkward position of having to be a villain on camera for millions of viewers. All that aside, they were brought on to talk openly and honestly. Giving feedback to an ex as friends is genuinely one of the nicest things you can do, imo. Knowing what you might need to work on does actually help in future relationships, and a vague "listen to your partner more" (while being good advice, not knocking that!) might not have hit home the same way.
