I mean, she’s #2. That means someone bested her, and if someone can do it, theoretically anyone can do it, so any good pro player does have a chance to best her. She isn’t unbeatable, and pro poker players aren’t stupid enough to underestimate or overestimate her. Besides, I’m pretty sure they have seen her actually playing against good pro players many times :))
@chrisfowler23884 жыл бұрын
@@susiechoban1542 This is a highly simplified view of poker lol. She wasnt bested in a one of on as such, it's most likely she has the second highest winnings from tournaments as a poker player.
@susiechoban15424 жыл бұрын
Krazy Kangaroo No, it’s the basic mentality behind competition: Second place means there’s someone better, and if someone can be better, theoretically you can be too. Also, in the same way, being the second highest earning female poker player means there’s someone who earns more, who is clearly better at what they do. She has clearly lost money, and if someone can best her, that means she isn’t unbeatable. Pro poker players are smart enough to know it’s always possible to win against someone.

in one card deck are 52 cards to get one card is nearly 2%. The one Try Guy had 4 outs. This means 4 possible cards he would win with. 4 x 2 = 8. Sorry if I stole the magic.
@s.dan.99674 жыл бұрын
how do u even calculate the chances of winning in ur hand ??
@bennyzhitomirsky20764 жыл бұрын
I'm a very mediocre recreational poker player, and I could see instantly that he has around 8% of winning his hand. This approximation is very simple - you take the number of remaining cards that would help you win (in this case those are the 4 7's in the deck), and multiply this number by 2. It's as simple as 4*2=8. Maria is capable of much more impressive calculations...
@pedroboueri4 жыл бұрын
Not impressive at all. Any regular player (and even some recreationals) are able to estimate that probability.
@aidankotsch69304 жыл бұрын
It’s more impressive she knows the 4 sevens are the only out honestly because that’s the hard part. Once you know that you just multiply that number by 2 because each card has a roughly 2% chance of being played (because 1/50 is 2% and there is 52 cards in the deck.)

@@freshrockpapa-e7799 That's not how that works my man, she didn't know what their cards were either, and she was still roughly calculating her chances. Based on what's on the table, and what's in your own hand, you can roughly calculate what your chances might be to win a hand, even without knowing what your opponents have, this is mostly due to the limited number of each card in the deck. Of course you can never be exact on your calculation without the knowledge of what is in your opponents hand, but you can damn sure get pretty damn close. It was the blind progression that did it. She wasn't allowed to be very strategic in her decisions because the blinds were raised so quickly. That made the game more luck based. If the progression was slower or the total chips on the board were greater, she would have more freedom to whittle them down. Conventionally, each player should be starting with about 100x the amount of the initial big blind (since it was 50, they would have started with 5000 if they were doing it standard). And the game should go at least 10 minutes between the blinds being raised.

@@killjoyer Maths doesn't always save you in expecially in gambling. A psychology degree in yale might...but maths... (or math in my American country that I live)...not really. It's a psychological game just as much or possibly even more than that of numbers. A mathematician can't always win a game when there's bluffs, misdirection, or anything of the such. The game is only slightly math related and mostly playing a fronted game of psychology. It is respectable. But, again, the odds are astronomically in their favor. Had the chess master not been blind-folded, he would've won, easy. Plus, there's only so much you can control when it comes to poker. You have probability, not guarantees. It's FOUR against one. The fact that the pros lasted so long is the real testament to their skill than winning or losing.

She actually just more or less played the odds. You simply don't have the time to play the players without getting to know them. If you put in any of her hands into a poker calculator you would get her plays. It considers her chance of winning against unknown cards and her stacksize which then accounts for the amount bet...very roughly. In the end she played very loosely, typical for grinding 10 poker tables at a time in low stakes online poker, the first hands with her pocket pairs where pretty much a no-brainer. Betting the right amount is one of the most difficult though
