I did`nt understand why people complain about the tank capasity. If you ride offroad then 300+ km are way enough for an entire day. Petrolstations are nearly everywhere. That few people who are really in a remote area can take some extra fuelcan to be safe. But even in africa there is petrol availible every few hundret kilometers. But this is only my own opinion. For me, it`s the best bike i ever owned.

Fuel range was an issue in Australia once we're in the outback. If you make mistake navigating you can easily waste 100ks before you realise. We welcome the extra fuel, even though we'll only need it 5% of the time.

In the western United States there are absolutely situations with more than 200 miles between stations. A section of the NVBDR is 220 miles of off road with no services in between. I just put a camel tank on mine and it's all good. I agree it is probably the best adventure bike currently on the market, but there's always improvements which can be made.

And here we are in Australia thinking if we can’t get 350 - 400 ks from a tank we have problems. You can easily do those distances between towns and even then there’s no guarantee fuel will be available.
@MeerkatADV2 жыл бұрын
I've got a bit over 12,000 miles on my 2021 at this point with about 70% of that off road and with luggage. Yeah it'll handle off road and tour just fine. I'm living off of it currently and haven't had a single problem with the bike.

You should see the videos of Pol tares, one of the worlds top extreme enduro riders, he did the red bull Romaniacs on a tenere 700 last year,nick Sanders rode one round the world, without any problems.
@davidcolinfisher10342 жыл бұрын
Dude, in case you didn't know, Pol Tares is a world champion trials rider, extremely fit, and extremely talented, and no doubt extremely well paid by Yamaha, and all the sponsors. This is common trick that manufacturers use to sell bikes. The average rider can most definately not ride a T7 the way he does. As well, the bike is extremely modified. So it looks like you fell for it. Watching the T7 riding with the "proper" enduro bikes, he was definately putting alot more into the ride, to make it do what it needed to do, to compete. He is highly paid professional. If it was his choice which bike to ride, what do you think he would pick to ride the Red bull?

Hope you're wrong about "not good for a long tour". I'm shipping mine to Colombia and will put 15,000 miles on it around South America for three months, then ride it back to the USA. By the way, I had a custom seat made to make things more comfortable for the long days.

It ain't a GS or a Goldwing, but it is perfectly capable as a tourer, although I prefer to stick to "A" roads where possible (50-60mph) rather than motorways, as windblast becomes a bit of a nuisance around 70.

I went through 300 meters of 10 inch deep potholes on a Ducati Night Shift, on a muddy roadworks at 90 kph and my front forks just tunneled through the lot without my ass rising off the seat. The Ducati Night Shift Scrambler is seriously underrated as an off-road bike/scrambler at 75 Horsepower, and an engine like a jet plane....
