Round 2 where you had no win condition with your entire deck besides reanimating your opponent's walking ballista--normally a terrible reanimation target due to being a 0/0--is the actual most insane game ending I've ever seen in a vintage cube

Casting mystical on upkeep was brutal there. Eot mystical lets you hard cast dream halls leaving show and tell as an extra blue card to cast opus into desire for 4 without needing to draw the blue card off of opus

I've been watching LSV content since he starting making it, and that second round win is one of the most impressive things I've seen him do, second only to crashing MODO with infinite O-Rings just because he could.

Freaking amazing, the absolute peak of content. I'm literally in awe of how he finds these lines and plays to outs I can't even process as existing. Match 3 game 1 I wonder whether casting the Thoughtsieze off the Desire would have been helpful. If Sandydog pitch-casts Char in response then they are down either Mortars or Vortex (pitched to cast it) and you Thoughtsieze the other one so the only remaining card in hand of relevance is Mana Crypt, I'm pretty sure you win from there, though I can't see what red card was pitched to cast the Char in real life so maybe that's wrong. If they don't cast the Char you can take it and go to 7. They play Crypt, recast Vortex, maybe Mortars, and attack. There's a lot of ways that could go but I think in the plurality of them their two creatures die, the Mortars is used, and you still have one creature at 7 against one Elemental token, Mana Crypt, and a Vortex with Sandydog at 14. Not sure if that's winnable but it seems better than losing both of your creatures due to the Char-Mortars combination.

At 1:42:46, end of R3 G1, why did you not cast thoughtseize from your graveyard to take the char? You know he has char + mortars to kill the archon, and even if he doesn't go for that play (maybe he thinks you have a way to not get decked like a timetwister), then you are still preventing 2 damage to the face by taking char with thoughtseize.

Dream Halls works for both players, if we Thoughtseize they can Char pitching Mortars and we take 6 anyways, even if we take their vortex afterwards we're still dead to any burn spell/haste creature, it's even technically worse because if we don't cast the Thoughtseize we technically have an upkeep before we die, still irrelevant though since we were always dying there

This way you would have had another blue card in hand to pitch to cast Mind's Desire. (To do that of course you should have played mystical tutor EOT instead of on your upkeep, which was correct to start with, as you pointed out).

Amass 1 is weird flavor-wise. You can “amass” one Orc and its called an army. An army of one, I guess. Or perhaps the amass 1 token symbolizes an army of many Orcs with a sum power and toughness 1/1. Either scenario is strange.

Really weird draft. I'm only on pack 2 pick 1, but LSV is bizarrely passing so much land fixing for storm cards. Also taking the Palace Jailer over Griselbrand is very odd because a storm deck that doesn't come together can backdoor into reanimator pretty well. Edit: saw the games. Turned out pretty well anyway!
