Can a flying camera film you Mountain Unicycling? - How the Hover Air X1 works on the trails

Good thing no one was around to see me make this video: A guy on a unicycle riding through the woods with a self-flying camera following him... what is the world coming to?
I recently saw a Berm Peak/Berm Peak Express video that featured, in part, the Hover Air X1 self-flying camera. Since I typically go out and film unicycle content by myself, if I was able to have a machine fly around behind me to capture the things I would have had to spend time setting up and taking down equipment for, then that would save me so much time!
I bought one and took it to the Grand Rapids Bike Park and I was pleasantly surprised on the quality of the pictures, the ability to track me, the different features, and the time it actually saved me.
If you're thinking of purchasing one of these, I'd recommend this video and to also buy the backup battery and charger that hover.com offers. I hope the riding aspect is entertaining as well!

I’ve read a bit about this, the performance following you is impressive including where it corrected after crashing into some branches. However I don’t think the internet is ready for shots of my backside yet, and I’d probably want a bit more control to do panoramas and not just focussed on me.

hey Dan, I'm after a set of knee pads just like that, that you can strap on without removing your shoes. What are they mate ? Been searching and struggling to find anything similar.

Yeah I actually just got them from unicycle.com in the USA - they’re called the Triple 8 Savers and can be found here triple8.com/products/saver-series-pads-3-pack?variant=32225691271305 I looked on the Australian unicycle.com and it looks like they’re not available but maybe through the actual brands website? I’d actually give them high marks - they stay in place for the most part and they’re effective. That’s really all you can ask for in a knee pad right? Haha. I also wonder if you can search for “Velcro knee pads” if you haven’t already. But I’m sure that has crossed your mind. Hit me up again if that’s unsuccessful. Appreciate you, Ken

I did get the second battery and charger, but have not really had to use the second battery yet. I'm afraid to use it much on trails with a lot of people for fear some joker will swat it down. They only gave me a bag rather than the hard shell case you got. The follow mode is really neat. There are also side track and dolly track (where it's in front of you) modes available. The dolly track is good with straight line travel, but you can loose it in a turn. If you are motionless for a few seconds, it thinks you want it to land. This was a problem when I was idling. I think it looked for movement in my head, detected none, and flew to me for a landing. If I have a failed mount, it might come in for a landing as well.
