Can a Hiatal Hernia Cause Shortness of Breath

OMG! I have 2 stents in my LAD, and COPD, Astma. Everything was under control untill about 6 months ago. I was bending over pulling weeds and when i straightened up, it was as if I had ran 2 miles. I have had multiple tests done to try and figure this out. heart cath, PFT, CT w/ contrast for blood clots. I had a echocardiogram done yesterday, the tech said she couldn't see my heart from the solar Plexus area. So, either I'm pregnant (i'm a male), or I have a hiatal hernia. I'm so relieved to have heard this. I'm going for an MRI tomorrow to confirm. Your video further assures me i'm not crazy. I was getting heart palpitations and woulld get breathless from layiong on my right side. Thank you for this information. sincerely, Not anxious anymore.

Thank you I was always told it's anxiety and I'm crazy my lungs have been checked my heart it's all normal. But I get short of breath and like 2 yrs ago I went through a bad time and now again same thing. I feel like a ball or something is stuck in my diaphragm area and I can not breathe properly. It's very uncomfortable and scary. I think it really could be a hernia. And when it's happening it can happen for days I sigh like take unconscious deep inhales every 30 mins or so and I have heart palpitations

I have suffered with thease Symptoms I got to the stage we’re I can’t go in shops when I walk to kitchen to make cup of tea I have to put my hands on the side to get my breath back it feels like I am havein panic and anxiety attacks it’s really scary I am under the hospital for it and was admitted in hospital for 7 days and when I get out of breath I need to wee straight away all thease problems as only started about 9 months ago still don’t no what’s causing it so it mite be hernia 4:15

Can having a terrible cough cause this? And in turn, after developing it, can the hiatal hernia cause a constant cough? I constantly have regurgitation and extreme heartburn. 6 months ago i had pretessus and pneumonia. My diaphragm was so sore and i was drained from coughing constantly. Now I'm constantly fatigued, i have pain in the left side on my chest and pressure under my heart. Constant heart burn and I'm sorry of breath and muscle fatigue. I've had pulmonary function tests and a boost of other tests but nothing registers as wrong. I'm at my wits end but i started looking into this after i was having difficulty swallowing. I think maybe having that illness caused a rupture in my diaphragm are the stomach to push through? I was once a strong and healthy make for my age. Now i feel constantly short of breath and weakening by the month. Also the anxiety you mention is an issue. I'm very depressed and frustrated. 😢

What if there was nothing physical I did. I was sitting at dinner and I hadn’t even eaten yet and I started feeling shortness of breath and it was hard to swallow and I panicked and I’ve had problems with the shortness of breath for almost a month.

And I would like to mention one of my weird symptoms which is when I get down in a swimming pool or at the sea I feel like the pressure on chest increases obviously that's because the water pressure but it's NOT normal to feel like that so my question Is that can be due to a gastrointestinal system problem like sliding hiatal hernia or something else ?

Can you explain why or how a Hiatal Hernia can cause massive resistant hypertension?

The pressure of the hiatal hernia on the diaphragm and subsequently the heart itself can be a factor. So too can overall inflammation stemming from poor gut health. Additionally having been on antacids or PPIs for a significant amount of time reduces nitric oxide which in turn is a definite known cause of resistant hypertension.
