As someone who's been in a LDR for 13 years, and this year we're FINALLY moving in together... it CAN be done. It is a lot of hard work on both person's part and it takes two incredibly mature humans to do so. We've made it work, it hasn't been easy, but we have.

I'm only 20 min into it but I am LOVING this STDTY. My fiancé and I started out with a long distance relationship. We started our relationship in June of 2011 but had been talking long before then. We were young and had no money to visit eachother throughout the year... it took over a year to save enough money so one of us could fly to see the other. He lived in Texas and me in Colorado. We were flirting before 2011 but didnt start "dating" yet because it just seemed so absurd to be that young and commit to something like a long distance relationship. When I was about to turn 17 he asked to give a relationship a shot and we just decided to try. That first year was super hard and I got a lot of shit. "You're so young, you should be focused on school, This is your time to see what you like and be adventurous..." etc. and though I understood their point of view I didn't care because I genuinely felt love for this person even though we hadn't met in person yet or gone on a physical date. The year of 2012 I turned 18 and Eric came down to visit me for the first time in person on my birthday. After that week when he got home he started making plans to move to Colorado. He came down in July of 2012 and in November of the same year packed all his belongings and came to me where we rented our first apartment together. Now, almost 8 years later, we are still together. 2018 was a huge year for us as we got engaged in July (on my birthday and the "anniversary" of us meeting in person, closed on our first home, and both saw career growth which was a nice little bonus lol. I can't imagine how my life would have been without him. Like Tim said... "I didn't wanna look back and think 'Man, she/he was the one that got away."

My boyfriend and I are in our third year of long distance between Australia and the USA. We see each other about once every 4-6 months with our longest stretch of time being 10 months. I think it helps that we're both super busy at the moment, so the time goes by faster. It also helps that we have an end date in mind. It's really hard, but it is possible to do.

How much did having an end date help you guys? Me and my boyfriend we're in our first year and we still don't have a definite end date, we might have that conversation when he comes here in a week probably :) But I just wanted to ask you. Also good luck reaching to your end date ♥
@KaitlynMartinMusic5 жыл бұрын
Pel Y. For us it was really important to know roughly how long we would have to be long distance. It helped that I was leaving the country for university, so we were able to plan for me moving back soon after that. I know for everyone it’s different though. My boyfriend and I dated in person for 8 months before I moved overseas, so one of the stipulations for continuing the relationship was that I would be moving back in 3 years. It can be different if your relationship started as long distance though. Maybe do have that conversation of when you would want to close the distance. I know for me it’s helped, but it’s certainly not necessary. Thank you, and good luck with your own relationship! 😊

GUYS PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT FLUSH "flush-able wipes", the thing about them is, it's not actually flush-able. That's all just marketing, there's no such thing as a flush able wipe, they take forever to decompose, and that wipe that gets flushed the toilet is making it harder for the people working in the water system (I forgot the name of the job), because now they have expensive machines that clear the poo poo water for us to use, backed up with "flushable wipes". Just throw them away in the trash, not down the toilet.

Its the factory assembly line of doing the dishes you do the same step of rinsing all dishes all at same time then soaping all the dishes at the same time instead of running water whole time. They teach you this way at restaurants too. Rinsing is when you scrub and wash off all the food then you use the sponge to soap/disinfect the dish. Tims way sounds long but its actually fast like when you have to fold hella papers or something its easier to do the same step over and over then step two over and over. Idk why the way people do dishes irk me
@chrystalcopado76625 жыл бұрын
