If you’ve healed from trauma and have had therapy which is what most addicts suffer from and therapy is what they need then yes probably. I am in therapy and no longer see drinking or using as a crutch like i used to. Using based off triggers of emotions I’m 8 months clean today too and i now see that i can enjoy a drink once in awhile but i want more time in therapy n being sober before i am ready

Practice makes perfect. If you are spiritually aware you will not be thinking with your immediate brain. For me, I can get a little high here & there as long as I don’t let it become anything more than an occasional thing. A big thing is using healthy coping mechanisms & not using drugs to escape reality & rather embracing reality 🧘🏽‍♂️✨

How addicted did you used to be? If you went from drug addiction to long-term drug moderation, you are the only person I know of who has ever done it. I can't get there. If I did, it would be torture. Knowingly waiting long periods between fixes is awful. If I open the door at all, my cravings go through the roof, and I have to deal with them all day every day. I don't want to live like that. I have to keep the door closed and locked.

This makes me feel so much better!!!!! I did the black or white thinking. And i also changed my life so that i dont need alcohol as a coping strategy. I have drank on 3 different occasions in just over 1 year. I dont feel guilty any more. I have created a life where I dont want or need alcohol 🎉 but do whats best for you. Generally speaking abstinence is best because as soon as you become 'intoxicated' by ANY substance, the truth IS that you cannot make good decisions whille youre on it. That's why abstinence is the best approach Generally speaking. From my experience.

@@jfmorache This is where it leads to - horror - young girls dragged down the road like hamburger meat. It happens all the time now. Heavy drinkers can have a black out behind the wheel off of one drink or no drink at all even the next day. A 23-year-old man could spend the rest of his life in prison after investigators say he hit a Porterville high school student while drunk driving, then fled the scene. The suspect has two prior DUIs and was on probation for one DUI conviction when the deadly incident occurred. On Thursday, Tulare County prosecutors filed a seven-count complaint against Harvey Jacobo in the hit-and-run collision that killed 15-year-old Jayden Arias. Jacobo faces one count second-degree murder, one count gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, one county driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury or death, one county hit-and-run resulting in death, one count driving with a suspended license, one count unlawful operation of a vehicle, one count driving under the influence while on probation for a prior DUI offense.

@@jfmorache Felching Among Men Who Engage in Barebacking (Unprotected Anal Sex) Felching (sucking or eating semen out of someone’s anus) is a sexual behavior about which virtually nothing has been written in the scholarly literature, despite the fact that it appears to be a not-uncommon practice among certain subpopulations of men who have sex with men (MSM). This study examined three broad research questions: (1) How common is felching? (2) How does a desire for felching relate to other HIV risk practices and risk behavior preferences? (3) What factors are associated with the desire to engage in felching? The data were from a content analysis study of one of the largest Internet websites specifically targeting MSM looking for partners for unprotected sex. A total of 1,316 profiles on the site were analyzed and selected randomly based on users’ ZIP codes. Felching was mentioned as a sought-after practice in approximately one-sixth of the men’s profiles. Men who wanted to find felching partners were significantly more likely than those not searching for felching partners to seek other types of risky sex, including unprotected oral and unprotected anal sex, and various enhanced risk preferences (e.g., having sex while high, multiple-partner sex, unwillingness to withdraw the penis prior to internal ejaculation). Multivariate analysis revealed several factors that were related to an interest in identifying partners online for felching, including race/ethnicity, indifference to sex partners’ HIV serostatus, several sensation-seeking measures (e.g., wanting “wild” or “uninhibited” sex, self-identification as a “bug chaser”), and eroticizing ejaculatory fluids. Keywords: Felching, Internet, Gay men, MSM, HIV risk behaviors

I'm not buying this. I think it is an extremely dangerous message that is false. Post-addiction moderation would be torture if it ever actually existed. Has it ever existed? I don't know of any examples of it. There is such thing as trading one drug addiction for another, but I have never heard of anybody who went from being a drug addict to somebody who successfully got on a schedule of getting intoxicated just four or so times per year. That is the mirage that addicts chase but never reach. Trying to achieve moderation after becoming an addict is called a relapse. It is a very black and white issue.

MANY people with AUD can moderate after time. Alcohol for most people is their only coping skill. 75% stop drinking with zero programs. Some go on to be able to drink socially with no issues

Nothing is black and white. That's the problem with the old definition of sobriety - it's archaic yet everyone still buys into it. The brainwashing is also prevalent in sober culture. We so badly want to be that person who is 30, 60, 365, 2000+ days sober that we feel defeated if we don't hit those arbitrary numbers. It was never about being cured of addictions. It's all about going through a spiritual transformation. You don't ever fail in that if you find balance and contentment

It has been successful when you’ve worked on actual trauma and trauma based therapy. Stats show that a period of sobriety plus therapy has been beneficial to those. However AA also has its place. But aa is not a substitute for trauma therapy and it’s not really that healthy. It has no scientific basis
