I have a GT4 and a new Camaro ZL1 modded to 650whp....great car the zL1 for the price (great cornering, brakes, power......)....but every time I drove the GT4 ... I arrived with a big smile like you...so difficult to explain...the stick is perfect never drove another manual like that, cornering is neutral...incredible car...

That’s the thing, I think people forget how much enjoyment can come from a properly modded /setup Porsche. We focus and fantasize on the high dollar Halo cars so much. That’s not to say that the GT4 is a base model or that there’s anything wrong with the Halo cars but I love the smiles per miles my modded 997Launch edition brings 😉

I would not recommend a Carrera T, since its the same platform as your GT3 RS is. With a GT4 you will have a mid-engined shifter and the RS as a rear-engine PDK high end, high power racecar. Both exiting cars that serve the same purpose but with whole different approach to it. Keep it up! Good to see you having fun with these beauties. Greetings from the home country of Porsche.

I would suggest a GT3 touring, or, saving some money and playing around, a 911 T. I had a GT4 along side of my 3 RS and I had the GT4 Sharkwerks “RS” done to the car. In the end, still just lacked a bit on power even after the mods. It certainly wouldn’t suck doing a GT 4 project, but, today there are some good alternatives.

4.0l and X51 plus bolt ons along with a shorted final drive will make the GT4 a beast. Yes all of these exist on the GT4 now. Even a shorter FD.

Great car, but I still can get over how looooooooong the gearing is in this and the Carrera S with which it shares an engine. Such a shame that you can’t experience the engine at its power peak in more than one gear unless you are flat out mobbing. It’s my biggest pet peeve with my 😘C2S Bet the car is fun as hell tough!

But I really want my car to sound exactly like that with the cracklings sound/pops when i rev and let go! Thank you for putting this content out. I'm trying to decide between a Fabspeed setup like Garricks blue GT4 or a Dundon setup like this. What did you prefer the sound of? That Fabspeed sounded like a god of thunder, but I'm worried that its a bit drone-y and aftermarket sounding. I think the stock exhaust sounds amazing, just a bit too quiet and restricted, so am leaning towards Dundon. Are you recording audio with the same mics and also in the same location in both videos?

@@paulgroen2567 They're quiet as OEM under 3k RPM's and over 3K it sounds like a GT Cup Car. Yes its loud but it sounds amazing, it all depends on your tolerance of volume. I'm really happy with the power via Dundon's + their tune.

I enjoyed watching this Matt. I ran with you at a GT in the smokies in 2019. At the time I had a 2014 Cayman S. I am now buying a GT4. I have a question for you, and I hope you are able to answer it. Were the pops and burble that were evident in every let off of the throttle there because of the Dundon headers or the tune? On my Cayman S, I had a Fabspeed setup, and loved it. Long Tube catless race headers and a Valvetronic exhaust. And the car snorted and growled and popped. But the GT4 has the 3.8L from the Carrera S and I was not sure if the headers or the tune was responsible for that lovely lovely sound every time you let off the throttle. Thanks for all the great content, and for being so nice to me and my friends when we met you at an overlook on the Cherohala last year. - Elliot

It isn't the Dundon exhaust of tune. They make is more pronounced, but that would be standard on any 981 GT4.

It may be a more balanced car than the GT3, but the engine just doesn’t sound anywhere near as interesting or thrilling ,especially when the GT3 approaches 9000 RPM!

Matt, I have Soul Performance long tube street headers with 200 cell cats combined with the Porsche Sport Exhaust. It makes very similar sound. It definitely startles pedestrians. A few months ago, the vacuum hose from the PSE came loose and it was insanely loud. I don't really know why but it was and I found it to be too loud. I had to get that hose reattached. I am on the list to get the next gen GT4 with the 4L engine. But I really want PDK. BTW, back seats are over rated. Caymans have lots of room in the rear and the frunk. My wife and I took a trip from Atlanta to Jekyll Island for a weekend and had plenty-o-room for our bags.

Since the GT4 uses the 991.1 Carrera S motor and it's actually really good, after the E92 of you decide to rid of it get another .1 Carrera S to justify having the backseat or maybe even a .1 GTS

If you are going headers, you'll want Dundon. They pioneered harmonic tuning and scavenging using equal length headers. All of the others copied them.

It looks like you are enjoying driving the manual transmission cars vs the pdk,s way more, so why don't you save yourself lots and lots of $$$$$ and get yourself a GT4 instead of a 991.2 GT3 manual. Probably save yourself around $90k.
