@@MahinJabi Abu Qatada al-Ansari (Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) was asked about his fasting. The Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) felt annoyed. Thereupon 'Umar (Allah be pleased with him) said: We are pleased with Allah as the Lord, with Islam as our Code of Life, with Muhammad as the Messenger and with our pledge (to you for willing and cheerful submission) as a (sacred) commitment. He was then asked about perpetual fasting, whereupon he said: He neither fasted nor did he break it, or he did not fast and he did not break it. He was then asked about fasting for two days and breaking one day. He (the Holy Prophet) said: And who has strength enough to do it? He was asked about fasting for a day and breaking for two days, whereupon he said: May Allah bestow upon us strength to do it. He was then asked about fasting for a day and breaking on the other, whereupon he said: That is the fasting of my brother David (peace be upon him). He was then asked about fasting on Monday, whereupon he said: It was the day on which I was born. on which I was commissioned with prophethood or revelation was sent to me, (and he further) said: Three days' fasting every month and of the whole of Ramadan every year is a perpetual fast. He was asked about fasting on the day of 'Arafa (9th of Dhu'I-Hijja), whereupon he said: It expiates the sins of the preceding year and the coming year. He was asked about fasting on the day of 'Ashura (10th of Muharram), whereupon be said: It expiates the sins of the preceding year. (Imam Muslim said that in this hadith there is a) narration of Imam Shu'ba that he was asked about fasting on Monday and Thursday, but we (Imam Muslim) did not mention Thursday for we found it as an error (in reporting).

@@zack95so just make it a point to do nothing on your birthday? Isn't that an acknowledgment of its own? No where does it specify in Islam to not acknowledge the day someone was born. Like wearing green shirt. If some pagans somewhere wore green shirts should I suddenly change my direction, dodging all things pagans did just to make a point of not being pagan? It's not my problem if someone's opinion of me is negative upon acknowledging my kids' birthdays. I'm not arrogant to have to make it a point to make sure I have every detail of pagan history studied and then make sure I do the opposite just to show ppl I'm not pagan.

Walaikum As-Salam warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, sorry I think the actions your describing are bidah please look it up I don't mean this in a rude way, but why did the sahabah and prophet and tabieen nor celebrate we can't claim to follow better islam then them or even make up our own practices. Jabir ibn Abdullah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would praise Allah in his sermon, as He deserves to be praised, and then he would say, “Whomever Allah guides, no one can lead him astray. Whomever Allah sends astray, no one can guide him. The truest word is the Book of Allah, and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad. The evilest matters in religion are those that are newly invented, for every newly invented matter is an innovation, every innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Hellfire.” Source: Sunan al-Nasā’ī 1578 Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Albani Please study this in more detail and let shaitan not deceive as he loves todo may Allah protect us and guide us🩷

There is nothing wrong with celebrating your birthday if you do it in a halal way. Having a nice meal with your immediate loved ones and a nice dessert. Saying alhamdulillah for another year spent with your family. For being grateful to Allah our creator and to our mother's for going through the trials of labour to have us. It doesnt have to be about blowing out candles, or throwing big parties, or going to non halal places full of non mehrams..

@Wildlifewild1 well if we aren't blowing out candles, we aren't singing and dancing and having a party. Or going anywhere haram for that matter. Just a really nice meal with parents and siblings, what can be wrong? We do that on a daily / weekly basis. So why on this day aren't we allowed? You have millions of people around the world celebrating Mohammed's (pbuh) birthday. You can have a nice meal and you can give a gift. Even the Prophet himself "Give presents to one another for this would increase your mutual love." He didn't specify a day we could or couldn't. So for all tense and purposes. If you aren't committing pagan acts, you can acknowledge a birthday with a gift and meal.

@Wildlifewild1 I don't celebrate the prophets birthday, so don't insinuate. And don't insinuate what religion I'm not. But what the scholars are saying is don't blow out candles, don't put yourself in a haram situation. Nothing about having good food or sharing a gift. At the end of the day, you aren't supposed to be having full on wedding ceremonies. Only Nikkah, but then look what goes on! People spending absolute thousands on wedding halls, fireworks, smoke machines and dry ice crap. Mixed halls. On Eid, it's little time with family then out driving around, or going restaurant and other social places like bowling alleys and cinemas. So there's alot to be changed before talking about having a decent meal at home with family.

This is so interesting to know. Mufti says we can throw a party if I’m not mistaken, but not to make it only about the birthday and certainly not to blow out candles. Does this mean we can have a family celebration on that day about multiple things and show gratefulness for our blessings that day as a family with focus on Allah or should we not? Can we thank Allah for our multiple blessings with our families without it being birthday specific?

The real reason anyone would celebrate a birthday is cause that person is still alive some people don’t live very long we have no idea when anyone dies from my family no one’s made it to 100 years they all die under 90 years old so if someone makes it to 100 yes I would celebrate thanking Allah that person is still alive

When I say this to my friends + family they call me an extremist and use excuses here and there. I've gotten to the point where idc what they say and do it my way and let them do it their way. I've informed them of the errors and if they want to continue that is their downfall. Allah knows best. Alhamdulilah

It's not forbidden in Islam either! Birthdays are there to say thanks to Allah (swt) that another year of our lives has passed safely.... it's like family get together and remembering the day when Allah blessed us with our children. we should give sadaqa and be thankful🙏🏻 Yes these big parties, music and non Islamic activities are not allowed.

So why dont we chose our islamic date of birth, instead of our English DOB. if 0ne wants to hve a family get together etc??? Nevertheless there is no comprimse in Islam, Allah's Words are full&final !!!
@salmas8932
@salmas8932 Жыл бұрын
@@tazboy1934 No problem with that. But living in western countries it can be difficult for us to remember those dates. Sometimes we gather over the weekends as people work. So it's not like it's compulsory to do on that date and time.... it's just a family get together. These reasons provide us time to meet and greet. And that's all. We shoukd t be very strict about everything in life. There are so many other things we need to concentrate which are compulsory...and clear instruction for that

@@ChromeMan04 To say thanks to Allah (swt) that we lived another year with health n safety. Getting older is beautiful as well. Shukr Alhamdulillah. Birthdays remind me the day when my kids were born and that day and those memories are very special for me😍 otherwise life has become so busy that we don't have time to enjoy. These occasions provide us the opportunities.

Buying a cake and eating inside your house is not haram. In fact you can be thankful to Allah CC that you came to life and do one more prayer for appreciation. Celebrating with huge parties is a waste of time, money and its not the Muslim way. Of course we are miles away from Idolatry but we should still be vigilant how it was celebrated in other religions, before Islam in pagan religions etc.

i dont understand. so where in the Quran/hadis that it mentions we can't celebrate birthday parties? Well, i don't like parties so that doesn't matter much; i'm just curious. Is it because the history of the candles? so is it okay if we don't put candles? I thought Islam likes it when we prepare parties or food for others to eat. basically that's all there is to parties, just food and visiting. well, i don't like birthday parties either, but never knew about this.. i think i can't understand from just a short video, and need to learn deeper. thanks

My family celebrate birthdays by making du'a which is good, alhamdulillah but they still have birthday cakes and candles. When i oppose the cake and candles thing, they started giving me looks as if I'm exaggerating. "This is just cake... kids like it. So dont make this a big deal. ALLAH knows this is just cake." They simply ignored about the candles. And the next time.... they bought firecracker for cake to replace the candles. I cannot avoid attending the celebration. But i dont know if i should repeat about the candles once again?

Maybe try telling the history about the origin of why the candles being put on. That act have its own satanic origin just like what Mufti Menk said in the video. Celebrating a person born day is good when family or friends gathering together cause that will make our bond closer. Many muslims do that act put candles on cake because it become normalised and seems harmless, and Im sure most of us muslims didn't even know its origin. So now that we know, to ignore it on purpose well... Allah knows best. 🌱
