No there are limits... It is forbidden by the Prophet (SAW) for a woman to travel alone the distance of more than 3 days (during that time) No matter what the scholars say, no matter who is the scholar doesn’t matter... What has the Prophet (SAW) said no is a big no... In a Hadith a person asked the Prophet (SAW) that he is going to the Jihad and his wife is going for hajj what shoulf he do and the Prophet (SAW) directly said go with your wife without asking whether she was old or young, with a group or not, was the road safe or not or whether she was beautiful or ugly (in terms of human view in reality every creation of Allah is beautiful) If it is not permissible for a woman to perform the hajj without a mahram then no way they can travel for other purposes without a mahram. There's a reason Allah has made the men (father, brother, son, husband and other mahrams) guardian... A guardian is supposed to guard what has been given to him and let them roam free May Allah make us understand, Ameen

But that hadith was mainly for back in the day when travel on camels or on a caravan was common and no person with a protective mind would let his wife mother or sister travel without a chaperone to assist them.

@@mohammadfarooqi6255 see I dont wanna argue but I just want you to do a little bit of research on how many woman gets raped now a these days on the muslim countries, how many woman sleeps with more than one man on the western and none muslim countries after they goes to study abroad, do a research on how many woman goes girls go to study without their parents supervision and ends getting a habit of drinking/smoking/clubbing/partying etc, do a bit research on how many divorces occur these days due to cheating I dont know in which part of world u live in... But as foreign student in malaysia, a muslim country, I see what happens to the girls after they enter college completing high school without any supervision... During the day, they are wearing hijab as fashion and at night they are clubbing and their parents dont even have a clue... U dont even have to worry about the bad boys to ruin your woman, a female friend will ruin her life and that's where the guardians supervision comes in.... There's a reason why every rule is there in islam...and trust me once a life is ruined, no matter much u try to forget u will bare that scar for the rest of your life specially if it’s a woman.... And the logic that back then woman had to use camel or caravan which was not safe is not logical considering in islam getting raped is not a sin or doesn’t make the woman a sinner.... But the covering of their bodya nd supervision of the guardian is for the reason to protect the woman themselves to fall into satan's grip... We are humans not angel and every man and woman eventually falls for the temptation of sin if they dont obey Allah and seek protection

SubhanAllah. I am astonished and I implore us to look within oursleves & reflect on this video, realising that Allah is Watching over us. How can verdicts speaking on behalf of Allah & what He عز وجل has decreed and His Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم has come with - be taken, when there is music in the background!? When the Imams and true scholars would give fatwa, they would sweat, shake and go red, and be so scared for they knew the severity of what they were about to say! Where is our fear of Allah that we feel relaxed enough to give a fatwa with music in the back? Issuing Islamic verdicts means your are saying Allah says this is okay or this is haram etc... Allah will take such a person to account for every single word. He bears witness of what we say. He bears witness when music is used, and above that, it is used in a video that makes claims about His Laws. Glorified and Exalted be He. Truly, we - and I remind myself first, need to fear Allah. May Allah guide us. May Allah guide us to the right way. Abu Malik Ash’ari that the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “People among my nation will drink wine, calling it by another name, and musical instruments will be played for them and singing girls (will sing for them). Allah will cause the earth to swallow them up, and will turn them into monkeys and pigs.” Sunan Ibn Majah 4020 Hasan (Darussalam)

Nobody turns into a tomato when giving fatwas lmao stop being self righteous. Sure, there was music in the video for like 10 seconds and that’s wrong, but that doesn’t change whether what she said is true or a lie.

Shaykh Faraz Rabbani summarized the issue as follows: “There are permissive fatwas from some respected, traditional scholars. But safety lies in caution. As such, what I have heard from two fuqaha of great knowledge, wisdom and taqwa, Shaykh Adib al-Kallas of Damascus and Shaykh Mahmoud Ashraf Usmani of Pakistan is that women should NOT do so under normal circumstances. They explained the fiqhi reasoning behind this: it is convincing. It is also what taqwa and caution would indicate. The Prophetic hadiths on the issue are well known. The way of those two seek the path of the next life is to avoid dispensations and the ‘easy way out’ on such matters inasmuch as reasonably possible.”

Muslim (1339) narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “It is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to travel the distance of one day, except with a mahram.”

This opinion is held by scholars from the school of Imam Shafi’i, Imam Malik and by most contemporary scholars: Sheikh Yusuf Al Qaradawi, The European Fatwa Council, Darul Ifta’ of Egypt, Shaykh Qara Daghi and scholars from Al Azhar. Clearly, these scholars were aware of the existence of the above-mentioned authentic narrations from the Prophet ﷺ. However, they used the sciences of hadith to examine the narrations deeply including looking at the asbab al wurud (reasons why the hadith was said by the Prophet ﷺ ), isnad (chain of narration) and illah (the effective reason). These scholars deduced that the illah (effective reason) why women were not allowed to travel without a mahram in the past was because of safety issues. If she can fulfil the conditions that allow her to travel safely, the prohibition is lifted. To support this ruling, there is another narration based on Sahih Bukhari in Fathul Bari written by Ibnu Hajar: It has been narrated through 'Adiy Ibn Hatem r.a. that the Prophet ﷺ told him, "And if you live a long life, you will surely see women traveling from Hira till they tawaf the Ka'bah, fearing no one except Allah". Imam Ahmad's report of the hadith includes: "By He in whose hands is my soul, verily Allah will bring this matter [Islam] into completion until women travel from Hira and tawaf the Ka'bah without being accompanied by anyone." Scholars mentioned that this particular narration from the Prophet ﷺ is a form of glad tiding. Therefore, according to the scholars who were inclined to this opinion, it is permissible for a woman to travel without a mahram if she observes the following: 1. She ensures that the paths towards her destination and on her return journey are safe and she does not meet with any harassment and chaos which can jeopardise safety. 2. She has trustworthy companions throughout the journey. The majority of scholars, such as 'Ata’, Sa'id Ibn Jubair, Ibn Sirin and Hasan al Basri, have also permitted a woman to travel for obligatory Haj without a mahram if she is accompanied by trustworthy people. Imam Abu al Hasan Ibn Batal mentioned in Sharh Bukhari, "Imam Malik, Imam Al Awza'i and Imam Shafi'i said, 'A woman who does not have a mahram may travel for her obligatory Haj with other women in trustworthy company.’” These scholars based their opinion on a precedent - the Mothers of Believers r.a. performed Haj after the Prophet's death and during the caliphate of 'Umar r.a. while they were accompanied by 'Uthman ibn 'Affan r.a, who was clearly not a mahram. Furthermore, Ibn 'Umar accompanied women from among his neighbours for Haj. In another opinion, Imam Al Baji, a Maliki scholar, mentioned in Al Muntaqa Sharh Al-Muwatta that a woman's travel without a mahram is contingent upon the number of people accompanying her. It is impermissible for her to travel without a mahram if she is with a small group of people. However, it is permissible for her to travel without a mahram if she is accompanied by a large number of people who can ensure her safety. This opinion was reported from Imam Al Awza'i. The scholars differ on the issue but it is my personal opinion that it is better for a woman to be cautious and to put in all efforts to travel with trustworthy company who can look out for her safety, and that may include a maḥram. In Islam, women are given high status and are not considered the weaker sex. The principle behind the narrations from the Prophet ﷺ on travelling with a mahram is to honour, protect and give special care for women. muslim.sg/articles/can-a-muslim-woman-travel-without-a-mahram

There is no evidence(dhaleel) behind what she is saying, this is something made up. The authentic hadith is clear, khalas. No one can come later, whether scholar or lay man, king or subject, and make something haraam that has been ruled by Allah and His Messenger (saw) to be halal, nor make something halal that has been declared haraam. Muslim (1339) narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “It is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to travel the distance of one day, except with a mahram.”

Naaji _ This fatwa of it being okay when it's considered safe is completely baseless, despite how popular it's becoming these days. There was no mention of it being a matter of safety or any specific reasoning given in the hadith. People just assume that and then think that if safety can be assured then it's okay.
