I own the US Core Custom 24 '22 and a US Fender Strat '05. Both instruments offer incredible playability and a variety of tones. However, they exist in different realms in terms of guitar design and tone. PRS doesn't quite deliver the sharp 'bite' that strats offer, and Fender strats can't quite replicate the warm, full, clean, creamy tone achievable with a PRS. And that’s fantastic; these two guitars don't need to replace each other, nor will they ever. Each one possesses unique characteristics and qualities, which is why we adore these brands.

Very well said and spot on - two different animals. Thanks for watching

Own the SE Standard (!) 24-08 since a few weeks. It‘s great! There is absolutely no need to compare it with strat, the output is much higher and it‘s by far more aggressiv. So in my eyes it‘s a peace of it’s own. Love to use both PU but the Bridge in single coil! That’s amazing!

Tonally very different. The PRS is mellower, the Strat clearer. Which is best? Depends on my mood at the time.
@ridingblues10 ай бұрын
The PRS SE does have the tone pop-up that gives it more chime, but mot exactly like a Strat. I play a Strat mostly, but ended up getting a PRS SE also because they are different guitars. I was trying to make the Strat sound more Les Pauly but it was close but no cigar. I play at church mostly and there was a comment about the Strat being more Dire Straits-like but with the PRS then the desired tone came into place much better. I got a deal on the PRS so I got one. But, in my little opinion, the PRS can cover the full range

Great video and playing! I have the 24-08 and an American Pro II. Obviously, they dont sound the same. They both sound great...stock. The difference in playing is the main thing here. I'm very agressive on the Strat, while i play more delicately on the PRS. It's great to change styles of playing. As my podiatrist said, "Wear different shoes to keep you feet healthy." 😀 I have to add, The PRS neck is notably thinner. I had my reservations, since I like a thick neck. Unfounded doubt. The neck is amazing.... go figure.

@@tonisalic6300 Wise podiatrist!! I feel the same when playing - digging into the Strat and delicate on the PRS. Thanks for watching!

Great video! Totally agree. I have the SE Standard 2408 and the Player Strat, and I definitely can’t emulate the Strat tones on the 2408. On the flip side, I can’t emulate the pickup strength and warm tones of the 2408 on the Strat. The 2 are pretty different guitars. Both are great in their own ways. For a 2 guitar collection, these are great!

The PRS SE Custom 24 is a beutiful instrument, I love mine. It is never going to emulate the exact tones of a Strat or a Les Paul, but it comes mighty close to both (and even closer if you are willing to use an EQ pedal and mess around a little) and for the price range offers top end quality. It also gets a much better strat sound than a Les Paul would ever acheive and vice versa so for someone who wants a jack of all trades guitar that has bags of quality and character of its own you can't go wrong.

Sweet sounds. How heavy is that PRS compared to the Strat?
@TheMusicLoop4 ай бұрын
@@FilipPandrc the PRS is actually not too much heavier. Very comfortable to wear for longer periods of time on stage.

With the two buckers I’d say you’ll get closer to a Tele more than a strat(as we all know a strat has 3 pups while a Tele usually has two). Which to my ears, all my PRS’s do teles justice. I also have a Tele to compare it to. I’ve got this same guitar which plays great. I did replace the pups though with Bareknuckle “mules”

They both have great sounds but none of them sound like a Strat. My preference to the Custom 24 in that video for the 'punch' to the sound in the video and its versatility in live shows (I own one)

If you want your PRS to sound like a strat, you buy a PRS silver sky.............................You can split coils all you want, you will NEVER get a humbucker to sound exactly like a single coil. You can get close, and problably close enough to fool MOST people, but in your ear it will NEVER be the same. In this comparison I probably would have choose a MIM strat to pair with the PRS SE, or a full on CORE PRS to pair with the US strat. This comparison is apples and oranges, and different pricing and quality leagues here. This is the reason Gibson and Fender continue to exist and compete with each other for decades at the same level...........................They each do something the other CANNOT, and it's NOT a bad thing just a different flavor, and selection of flavors is the spice of life.

I reckon it would sound more similar if it were a CE 24

Yeah unfortunately PRS is close just not a strat, like you I have both US Pro strat 2016 and just got my PRS SE 24-08. I think the sounds are more full with the PRS and closer to a LP. Don't get me wrong I love my PRS, but if I need quack I have to go with Fender.

prs to bright the strat is a little more deep toned both good though.
