This issue seems to be controversial because women make it controversial. I have been mocked for not shaping my eyebrow, by other women, even though my eyebrows are "normal".

Can you perhaps provide sources that allow for what you describe, that if someone has long or uneven eyebrows, they can remove or trim them?

Regarding the permissibility of plucking or trimming eyebrows, there are Hadiths that discuss altering one’s appearance, particularly related to namisah (plucking eyebrows). The most commonly cited Hadith is from Sahih al-Bukhari: • Sahih al-Bukhari, 5931: ‘The Prophet (peace be upon him) cursed women who practice tattooing, those who get themselves tattooed, those who remove their face hairs, and those who create a space between their teeth artificially to look beautiful and change Allah’s creation.’ However, scholars such as those from the Hanafi and Shafi’i schools have elaborated that if the alteration is to remove excessive hair that is abnormal or causes harm, it may be permissible. This is based on the principle of removing hardship (raf’ al-haraj). Ibn Hajar, in his commentary on Sahih al-Bukhari, mentioned that the prohibition applies primarily to changing the natural features for mere beautification but does not necessarily apply to removing something abnormal. Additionally, the Maliki school permits light trimming if the eyebrows are excessively long or disfiguring. Scholars have also discussed this in relation to the concept of maslaha (public interest), where minor alterations for cleanliness or removal of discomfort are allowed. So, in cases of abnormally long or uneven eyebrows, many scholars permit trimming, provided the intention is not to imitate those engaging in excessive beautification but to avoid harm or discomfort.
