Perhaps AirBnB founders know that their bread and butter is simply accommodation and, while yes they "invented" the term Experiences, maybe the weight of this word doesn´t translate into other languages or cultures. And let´s remember, Amazon during Covid launched EXPLORE virtual tours, another nice word, but they lost a ton of money on it overall and jettisoned it in 2022 I think, perhaps understandably so.

AirBNB want experiences to work. They have put too much money into it. This is their third time. I suspect there will be a fourth and a fifth time too.
