It’s almost as if Milroe had a “no-bench” clause in his NIL contract and Deboer was constrained from fully being a coach and pulling Milroe mid season… After Oklahoma you would think we would’ve seen much more of the back up quarterbacks in the Mercer game… But it didn’t happen all season, so why expect it then? Layer on top of Milroe’s lack of development… The OC’s lack of development as a play caller and adjuster and you’ve gotta recipe for a mediocre season

We’ve all heard the rumors that a group of players went to Saban after the national semifinal lost to Michigan last year, wanting more money… Probably precipitating his journey to retirement It’s hard for me to believe that the Deboer is so weak that he cannot make a change of quarterback, unless he feels somehow that he is compelled to stay with Milroe… This leads me to question: “is that small group of players actually running the team now… ??” I think it’s a legitimate question because of the on the field signs of frustration by some of the wide receivers and other players demonstrated in public during the games… There’s something wrong in the locker room with his team and the coaching staff is not leveling with the fan-base about it I wish I could be optimistic about next year… But this is why I am not optimistic

Coach DeBoer has to figure out how to get his players actually ready to play week to week, get his staff ready to coach great schemes week to week, have everyone ready to adjust when they need to adjust. @@user-tl5bk9uv8x I still say this year went poorly. Judging a first year off purely a 9-4 record ignores context. Yes it could have been worse, but I don’t think it can be chalked up to expectation. DeBoer was given a top tier program with top players. 3 of the 4 losses came from teams that player/program wise were lesser than Alabama. 2 of those games Alabama’s offense (DeBoer’s identity) was almost a complete no show. That’s largely due to Milroe, but I really think that’s also on coaching for not adjusting to what you have at QB. They could even run the same system, but its application was completely off. The identity should have been something closer to UGA’s in 21-22 (RB runs, supplemental qb runs, play action, 1-2 read passes). Instead we made Milroe the focal point. Maybe that wasn’t possible with a first year OC so idk. ‘Well he doesn’t have a his players’ Yeah… but also own your program and your players. Play to the strengths you have rn and build your success on what you do right now. Don’t give yourself a mulligan.

Just reminder about DeBoer, he has put 2 of his last QBs into the NFL and developed them both. Michael Pennex and Jake Haner. I believe that the favorite here is Austin Mack. He has the right physical and mental power and has been in his system for 2 years and understands it cold. Let's be honest, this team had several weaknesses - Inconsistent O-line and D-line - you cannot tell me that they were just as good as Ohio State, Texas or Oregon. Linebacker corp that was riddled with injuries. One great receiver and another very good and the rest above average. D line was just OK with no real solid edge rusher to pressure the QB. The team had holes. You just cannot blame everything on a first year coach that went 9-4 vs Saban going 7-5 in his first season. For Bama to be great they need Linebackers and a strong edge rusher that can pressure the QB and a solid safety. We need a solid left and right tackle on offense. If we get that we have the backfield, receivers and DB's to win games. Do not be surprised if you see Kalen take over the play calling on a more active basis. Sources tell me that he may do this because he was not that happy with all the play calling at times. He has done this before. Trust Deborer. He will deliver like he always does. Everyone said they were skeptical about his ability to recruit in the SEC - proved everyone wrong. The same will be true about the team he puts on the field next year.

I agree with your point and rolled my eyes when he said “two seasons combined vs. 2017.” Here’s one for you: Before the bowl game this year, Milroe’s last touchdown pass against a division 1 school was October 19 against Tennessee. October… 19… the back half of this season wasn’t just bad for Milroe, he had to be in the running for the worst QB in the nation. Following the Georgia game, Milroe had 3 passing TD’s for 9 interceptions against FBS opponents (I’m excluding Mercer). And that’s not to even mention the fumbles, diving backwards 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage to ensure maximum yardage lost when being sacked, etc. Just ABYSMAL quarterback play. I am not a Deboer detractor, I think he will be just fine. However, if he doesn't handle Milroe, then I have to agree with others that he is weak. Coach needs to give Milroe the 2 am club announcement, I don't know where you're going, but you have to get out here. If Milroe comes back the WR room will enter the portal as well the QB room. Jalen needs to go, cuz if he regresses more he may be an UDFA. If NFL scouts think he's a legit pick, advise him strongly to go pro.

Do you understand how hard it is to be as good as they were with how bad the offense was at times? Being shoved back on the field after countless 3 and outs and most defenses totally collapse. Bamas did not and was way above avg. The only game thime they looked bad was 2nd half of uga and vandy and one of those teams is very hard to prepare for as they dont have a normal offense playstyle. Saban would have sached Milroe if he was showing that he could not win against average teams. DeBoer put Milroe ahead of the team, which Saban never would. This is not the former Pac 10, when the weaker teams were pushovers. DeBoer has to get his team prepared for every game, not just the big games. Re: Hurts vs Milroe Milroe was objectively better than Hurts as a passer his past two seasons when Hurts was the full time starter. Hurts was also on better teams with better coaching. That said, Hurts took a year off for development and went to a better system for him against worse defenses. I don’t think Milroe has that same opportunity at this point. He needs to go to the draft because IMO this draft class is so weak he’s likely to be a R1/2 pick and he might not be last year when Manning, Allar, etc. will be available.

The boosters and whoever has the biggest NIL funding is who’s running these teams. They threaten the program that they’re pulling funding. I didn’t pay 2 million a year for my insert boosters favorite player. The colleges panic quick now if they think they’re going to lose a big chunk of its funding and can’t be competitive that way in the future. Until stuff gets figured out and rules in place this is part of the new college football.

Best or 2nd best o-lineman? A DeBoer recruit/transfer named Parker Brailsford. Milroe? A Saban guy. I love Coach Saban and everything he did for Alabama, but not every recruit was a homerun. He missed on a lot of guys too. I would be absolutely shocked if KD doesn't win multiple national championships.

The offenses and defenses overall were better in the Hurts era. Hurts wasn’t great, especially against teams like Clemson and Georgia. Hurts was very similar in that he can run and throw the deep ball, but not able to hit the short to intermediate routes because he couldn’t see the field. Hurts had better weapons from a receiver and running back perspective.

Alabama is bigger than any coach or player. There's too much at stake to let the program slide for more than a year or two. That being said, coaching turnover is bad for a program. Debour has to prove himself as a leader and fans are looking and evaluating the situation. Debour is under a microscope, but what coach isn't. Time to pull the blinders off.... *Besides the Milroe disaster,we also have this "Ty Simpson thing" going on...He is NOT and will NOT be the QB for this outfit.... *Will everyone agree that Ryan Williams has a LOT to work on?...2 things. I believe he will and I believe there is a LOT to work with... *Did we have one above average OT? I say no. Not overall...Especially in Pass-Pro. As poor as I have ever seen....ANYWHERE....Although I give Formby a lot of credit for continuing to work and showing some POSSIBLE upside... *Did we have ANY elite Interior O-Linemen? Yes...#72 is a helluva Center...Booker,Geno,and Roberts are average to horrible...Truth... *Does this team lack discipline and leadership?🤣🤣🤣🤣..If you want commend Milroe+others for their "performative" artwork? I think Milroe is a second round pick and will not start in the NFL. The reason is his consistency, his read maturity and also because he does not fit most offenses. He fits the Ravens type of run threat offenses. Only a few teams run that type of offense.

I think Debeor made some bad decisions concerning QB during the Oklahoma and Michigan games. I still like him and he deserves a chance to turn Bama around from this crappy season.

Milroe is a nice guy, but he can't read defense setups. He reminds me of Cam Newton in the NFL. Both mentally shutdown once defensive players get their hands on them. Also, our offensive line loses 3 yards per pass play. They take forever to just stand up. By that time they're already getting pushed back. Lastly, the best QB's in history are pocket passers. Get better offensive lineman, a QB that has superior accuracy, excellent route wideouts and this is key...an offensive coach that can call the correct plays and a head coach not afraid to cancel and correct the initial play call.

Who cares? Ryan Williams has got to be one of the most overhyped players ever. Dude had 1 play on a avg uga defender and people went nuts. Guy didn't do shit after and a lot of that is Milroe but still doesn't take away we have hardly any body of work to go by. He could be great, he could be average. We have no clue
