These are takes I've been waiting to hear. EVERYTHING in this video was spot on. 1) Even under Saban, the last 3 OC's have refused to commit to the run WITH THE RUNNING BACKS. O'Brien was drunk in love with Bryce....Rees & Sheridan were lackluster play callers and game planners 2) Was Ryan Grubbs a bigger lost than we thought? He's been with Deboer for years 3) Womack grades out at a B- at the least. The defense improved greatly throughout the year. They allowed 190 total yards against Michigan. 73 passing....115 rushing on 51 attempts. 2.3 yards per carry. Created a turnover. They played GREAT. Time of possession was lopsided 39 minutes for Michigan 21 minutes for Alabama 4) Milroe just didn't develop. For whatever reason he actually regressed from last season. The focus just didn't seem to be there. He had some moments but he just seemed lost in the pocket. He even misread a lot of RPO plays.

We had the best defense since 2017, so we had a championship defense. I agree though the last 2 OCs refuses to commit to the run. The offense was terrible and Milroe just couldn’t read the field. The key to Bama success is having a game manager (McCarron, Coker, Mac Jones).

He doesn't have any wiggle. He doesnt read zone read well. He doesn't read anything particularly well and when he makes a mistake he doesn't have any of that to fall back on. He just doesn't understand what to do and it affects his confidence. I wish him the best in the future and i appreciate all that he has done for Bama. As a bama fan, I don’t think DeBoer is in the hot seat. Milroe was majority of our issues. His non pocket presence affected the o line blocking for him cause they didn’t know where he was, discouraged running backs, and altered offensive play calling. Bama gets in a true pocket passer QB they’ll be dangerous. DeBoer is a good coach, just was in a bad position. The loyalty like they’re referring to was there, if he came in and benched Jalen and then lost Bama fans would have been like “PUT JALEN IN WHAT ARE YOO DOING THE HECK MAN”. But that other qb could’ve lost one. But they’d still be unhappy about it. Leaving Jalen in lost four. I am excited to see what next year brings.

It blows my mind that football people can’t figure out why they can’t run and the play calling looks wacky. It because the way teams defense milroe because he is so limited in what he can do. The biggest issue this year was opposing teams stacking the box and forcing Milroe to beat them with his arm. His inability to do so, along with poor O-line play, basically attributes to the rushing woes.
@Toptalentadvisor5 күн бұрын
I agree with most assessments of Milroe. He is not the type of QB in Deborer's system that thrives. I have followed Deborer for several years since my son did play for him. Milroe does not fit the typical QB that he likes. Michael Pennex and Jake Haner at Fresno State are the types that fit his system. Austin Mack and then new Kid that is coming in fit very well. He will be fine and so will Bama in 2025. But this team was weak in other areas - Oline was inconsistent, no dominant pass rush or edge rusher, D line was just average. LB corp was desimated with injuries. Lots of other issues. Plus - new system on offense and defense, new coaches new players in some positions. Be honest- Is the offensive and defensive line better than Ohio State's, TX, Oregon ? NO they are not. LET'S ALL REMEMBER - SABAN WAS 7-5 IN HIS FIRST YEAR AND EVERYONE WANTED TO HANG HIM LIKE THEY ARE DOING NOW. On comments about Ryan Grubb - RYAN GRUBB LEARNED THE SYSTEM FROM KALEN. At Sioux falls Ryan Grubb was the Oline coach and then learned the system from Kalen, then went to South Dakota State and became o coordinator. Kalen will bring a National Champion to Bama if people are patient. His recruiting tells the story. He did not have a QB that could outperform Milroe. Putting anyone else in would have resulted in the same deficits without a run threat. You may see Deborer get more involved in O play calling in 2025. He may ever take it over. He has done this before.

He was definitely playing Milroe bc of seniority. Milroe is the worst qb I’ve seen in 39 yrs at bama. He was a cancer to the team. The fact he kept milroe in against OU said it all. Saban wasn’t preparing to have a new qb the following year. We all knew milroe was gone after this year. There should’ve been changes made. We have a new season to prepare for. Hell deboer should’ve played a different qb or 2 AT LEAST IN THE SECOND HALF in the bowl game. Why did he play milroe the entire game?

Welcome to Jesus, everyone. I read the comments below and I see you finally see the light. For a year and a half, people kept saying "Look how well he played for this quarter or that quarter." We just need him to do that more. And it's true. If you are looking for a QB who flashes moments of brilliance but loses 3-4 games per year, he's your man. Some people looked at it through the lens that very few Alabama QBs have gone undefeated. And that's also true. But here's the deal. In 17 years (I'm going back to last year), no other QB ever looked as helpless and hopeless as Milroe occasionally looks. It's not "Bama lost to Michigan, so he's got to go." Other QBs have lost to great teams. But it's how incompetent he was for the full 60 minutes. And then this year, the last half against UGA and 4 other games were the same thing. He's allowed to lose. He shouldn't be allowed to play that poorly. And this is important... He was just as bad in Saban's last year as he was in Deboer's first year. I don't know if Bama will have success under Deboer but I know a lot of the shine on Saban would rub off if you only judged him by the games Milroe started.

Milroe is not a quarterback. He's a running back, receiver, or tightened/flanker. I have said this for two years and I am not an Alabama supporter. Maybe the program favors WOKE which started with Saban when Milroe came on board. Milroe may be a nice guy, but when he's pressured he loses the ability to make a QB decision. 1:33
