Can Am Commander XT 700 PT2

We take our new Can-Am Commander XT 700 on a tour through Kennetcook to Walton, Nova Scotia. I am really happy with the Can-Am Commander XT 700, the power is more than enough for us and we mostly do trail touring and nothing too crazy.

Nice videos (Pt1 & Pt2). Been looking at getting a SxS myself after 3 years on my CFmoto Cforce 500 2 up. We aren't sure what to get yet. We'll see.

We have loved watching your experience with the Commander 700. We are considering purchasing one. I got to sit in one today and I really liked it. My concern is that it will be underpowered with the smaller engine, but you guys seem to be enjoying it. This would be our first side by side, so I don't think we really need a 100 HP beast. Are you still liking that front window?

Love the front window. It’s suits us perfectly. I was super concerned about the power. I had an 800 ATV going to a heavier SXS 700 stressed me out. Not anymore. More then enough power for us. Had it going 80kmh in a few seconds from dead stop and still had plenty of throttle left. I am extremely satisfied with the power. We do mostly touring and hunting and fishing. The 1000 would have have been overkill for us. Not mention it was over $7200 more after taxes.

Thats great ,by seeing you run up to 50 like that i dont think you will have any problems .You cant go that fast on the rail beds with all those humps just on logging roads besides if you go to fast well you will miss all that scenery .I am sure you guys are gonna enjoy this yr more with a side by side .Were you able to test drive one before you ordered it and did you look at other brands too.

We bought it sight unseen actually. It had all the features I wanted. Mostly for going to our camp and hunting and fishing. But for Newfoundland too of course. I had it going 80kmh and plenty of throttle left and like you said rarely do we need it to be that fast. Johanne enjoys the comfort and being able to gab. So she’s loving a ton.

Nice machine. Waiting on our 1000r xt to arrive late August...early September. Can't wait to cross Nfld next summer. We live on the east coast of Nfld, so its going to be a nice trip. We have a Hisun strike 250 coming also for our daughter's to make the trip and get driving experience. Hope your trip later this month is another awesome time.

I'm considering the same unit! How is the cab heat from the motor? I live in a warmer climate and I've read of others saying the heat coming up from the center can get quite warm!

We had no issue with heat in the cab from the engine. In the 2022 models they moved the engine to the back so we had no issue with heat this summer. I know previously people complained about it. I think this is fixed.

Have you ever thought of putting a thin layer of silicon on the lips of the containers to make them more sealed?

I absolutely love this SXS. I was worried about the low seating but not anymore. I’ve gotten really used to it. Love this bike.

What is your opinion on the 700 versus 1000? Is there a significant noise difference (better or worse)?

I’m just a touring guy. The 700 has plenty of power and torque. The 1000 was like $4000 more here not worth it. I was coming from a light 850 atv and I was crazy impressed with the power on the 700.

We absolutely love our Commander. Haven’t had a hitch. More than enough power for our needs.

What is the horsepower on the XT 700. I have one just curious what the HP is. The dealer said 100.

False. The 700 has 52hp and the 1000 has 100hp. And to be honest 700 is toques differently. To me it feels more then 52hp. Plenty of power for me.
