How fast can you go in my normal 1’ of snow. I just bought the same machine and plan on installing tracks next winter
@bobsycomeau49333 жыл бұрын
Ok i try it with the dps module its 56 km/h or 35 mph
@kelly41123 жыл бұрын
Do you have to run it in low range with the tracks on?
@bobsycomeau49333 жыл бұрын
Yes i always run in low in deep snow but if you make a trail you can go on high 45km/h top speed thx for watching

@@bobsycomeau4933 since the track reduce your gearing by 50% why would you need low range? Should be plenty of power
@lisforlifer Жыл бұрын
@@Captndartyyou need low range so you don't burn your belt up . Kind of like snow plowing you want the extra low gear so you don't overwork the rest of your machine.

Do you find that going over the deep snow that slow and steady or faster is better so you don't get stuck? I have watched quite a few videos with tracks and when people get stuck they normally don't have to shovel they just take their boots and stomp down the snow between the front and rear tracks to give it a ramp and usually just drive right out. Drive back and forth a couple of times to pack the snow down

I need to go a Little faster in deep snow to keep momentum and yea it was my first experience with it you dont need to shovel it thanks for watching

Kinda Funny how I can put 7.00x16 bias ply tires on my International Scout. And push snow over my hood with traction plus.
@roytallericoGunner3 жыл бұрын
Yeah..you bog down in heavy snow they will find you in the spring.
@Captndarty Жыл бұрын
Skinny tires on a hard snow covered road slice down to get traction. That setup wouldn’t stand a chance in soft terrain were floatation is required. Two totally different requirements for traction
@lisforlifer Жыл бұрын
Any truck, has no chance of floating over three to five feet of snow without sinking down to the frame

Gas mileage must suck with tracks and driving in snow. Ah, not really made for the snow I see, looks like at 2200 pounds it’s quit easy to bury. But impressed it still went as long as it did. This made my mind up that tracks are really not as great as they seem for snow, especially deep snow.
@bobsycomeau49333 жыл бұрын
Its pretty good in snow i just need to go faster haha but you can have the backcountry track its better in deep snow
