I'm so happy you did somewhat of a side-by-side comparison on the fins, watch another video and the guy just took the old one off and slapped a new one on. I was mostly interested in seeing a comparison, so it does look like it should work and be more performance cooling. Thank you for a better video

Nicely done Farrow. I changed the water pump impeller on my 800. Now I guess I'll be doing it on my 1000. The new impeller has got to move more water which means better cooling. However, the thermostat still restricts overall water movement. Anyway, looks good. Once I'm able to get back to working on my machine, I may just get this mod done. Thanks for shar'in !!!

When you tighten things like the cap you should always tighten the bolts in a cross pattern. This will make sure there is an equal torque on the whole thing you are tightening.

How much does it help with the excess heat when riding? My 2019 850 outlander max is crazy hot to ride in the summer.
@RobFarrowATV5 жыл бұрын
Not sure it helps with heat at all...mine still runs hot! It was more for the lip on the end of it where the hose attaches, since the stock one didn't have that lip and the hose actually fell off before! I've never been able to solve the hot running issue no matter what I tried...the fan override switch I put on seems to help somewhat.
@chrisbassmansamis4 жыл бұрын
I ended up using heat insulation that my buddy had for his race car. Lined the plastic under my left leg and it seems to be working awesome!
@bradbenjamin48214 жыл бұрын
Voice your heat complaints to your dealer. Canam won't address any sort of recall if there aren't 25% of the machines with the same issue. I'm told it's because they send them out of the factory running lean in order to pass California emissions. Solution appears to be a tuner to correct the air/fuel ratio, and adjust the fan to come on and shut off at lower temps. Supposedly it'll run significantly cooler. I ordered my tuner last night, it should be here next week.

I have a Can Am Renegade 1000 Xxc with a snorkel extension and i have problem with power loss solution when a drive for 1 hour ore more than i loss power and i cant go faster than 10 mph but when it pauses for 30 minutes and start again it's ok but again the same problem is presented can you help me to solve this problem.
@RobFarrowATV5 жыл бұрын
Wish I could! I haven't heard of anything like that...though maybe the snorkel was getting blocked, that would suck the power out of it but then you said it gets better after letting it sit for 30 min. Is it overheating and going into Limp Mode? Would say on your dash what the issue is if it was. Good Luck with it! Thanks for watching!
@flamuribraimi49205 жыл бұрын
@@RobFarrowATV Not say anything but it looks like there is little overheating because the pipes where the water circulates from the engine to radiator are a little faded. Then it does not go fast when it gives gas and gets gas but slows down does not let you go fast. I have a question about Limp Mode, what does the engine stop or turn off or not allow you to go fast is not getting gas?
@RobFarrowATV5 жыл бұрын
When it goes into Limp Mode, it will limit your power and you'll only be able to go slow speeds. I don't believe it stops the engine...at least that hasn't happened to me. So I'm not sure what your issue would be. Hope you figure it out!

Does the aftermarket impeller actually move more coolant ?
@RobFarrowATV4 жыл бұрын
I have no idea. It's supposed to do a better job cooling the machine. I got it because it actually had a lip to hold the hose on not like the BRP one that had half a lip.

Great video, I have a little question for you? I had change my tire on my can-am renegade 850 xxc 2016 for 28inch Maxxis zilla I play in mud and some trail, so now I hesitate for the clutch kit or the CVTech, the only problem is the CVTech cost a lot more than a simple dalton clutch kit...What is the best for the long time? because some people tell my the stock one require a lot of maintenance thank
@RobFarrowATV5 жыл бұрын
The Dalton Kit is great but you will still smoke belts in thick mud or skeg. If you're looking for long term, the CVTech is better but if you can't afford it and want an upgrade on your clutch, the Dalton is the cheaper way. I don't know about stock clutches needing maintenance aside from cleaning them after a hard ride. The stock worked fine until I hit the deep mud, then it wouldn't grab the belt and smoked it! Good luck with your choice! Thanks for watching!

Right on. I guess that’s a no for me. Lol.
@RobFarrowATV5 жыл бұрын
It's something that should be kept an eye on if you're mud riding or riding thru brush that could knock the hose off! It's hidden behinds plastics (one reason that I removed all my lower plastics now) and you can't see if it's off or not! The clamps are garbage, so at the very least replace the clamp and if you have a little mechanical know how and can drain the rad fluid, maybe have a look at the end of the impeller cover to see if there's a lip all the way around. It's not needed but it's sure a piece of mind! Depends on what type of riding you are planning on doing? If you are doing a lot of mud and want more aggressive tires, I would look at a Dalton Clutch Kit or if you can afford it, something like a CVTech primary and put a better spring in the Secondary. Is it an XMR style or an XT model? Outlander? if you're going in deep water, a snorkel extension is recommended and for thick mud, a rad relocate is nice! Like I said, it all depends what you are using it for...if you're just a trail rider, then just ride it the way it is! Happy Trails!
