Can-Am Ryker 900 ACE '20 | Taste Test

Happy 2020!
A few months ago, I heard the news that the Philippines President, Rodrigo Duterte had an accident at his presidential compound while riding a newly acquired Kawasaki Vulcan S.
Then a couple of weeks later, I saw a picture of him sitting on a 3-wheeled motorcycle. And after a bit of searching, it was a Can-Am Ryker! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to confirm if it was the 600cc or the 900cc version.
What I'm 'Taste Testing' today is the top-dog model of the Ryker lineup, the 900 ACE!
I have ridden the Can-Am Spyder F3 in the past, how will the Ryker perform? And what are the key differences between it's more expensive sibling!?

Thanks for your review. After years of riding sportbikes, I now have bad knees and back. With this bike I can keep the sportbike aesthetic, with the seating of a cruiser.

Thank you very much and for watching! The Ryker is a easy get up-and-go motorcycle, but I prefer manually shift my gears if ever. If you want that manual-shift action, I prefer the Spyder F3. All the Rykers 600 & 900 are completely CVTs!

Spyders are belt driven. The Rykers are shaft driven. I have owned both. Other than that, great video.

The way to avoid the pothole is to line up the middle of the hole with your left knee. The hole now will be between the left tire and the back tire. But of course if the hole is very wide then there's nothing you can do about it.

To the casual or to most riders in general, that would be a tough undertaking. It would take a lot of practice to perform such a maneuver especially on a trike like the Ryker. But thank you for pointing that out! Thank you!

It is street legal in the Philippines and it's wort 1.9M -2M in the Philippines.

I am aware that the Ryker is street-legal in PH. The question is that if the bike is legal on the Toll-regulated expressways like NLEX, SLEX, Skyway, STAR, CAVITEX, SCTEX, TPLEX, etc. That is what I want to know. Thank you for watching!

I've just bought a new ryker and within 3 days I new it's the wrong bike, I've got parkinson's and did not realise you needed such force on the bars to steer and the roads in n Ireland are very rough meaning the bike is terrible to control. I'm going to sell the bike after 4 days, this was never mentioned on any videos I've seen.

With a traditional reverse-trike like this, it does indeed require a bit of effort to steer this bike unlike a traditional motorcycle. Plus that extra wheel in front does add quite a bit! But it's not a narrow-3-wheeled motorcycle/scooter like the Piaggio MP3 and the Yamaha Niken 900. But have you tried to push the bars toward the direction you're going (push-right to go right & vice versa)? It's quite opposite compared to counter-steering on a 2-wheeled bike as you have to push-left to steer right and vice versa.

He actually did mention that the steering was a bit tight in the turns. It seems to me the faster you go the easier the steering would be. Sorry to hear you are unable to ride. I also have physical issues that enables me to ride 2 wheels and I am going to get a ryker. I just hope I can ride it 🙏.

Unlike the Morgan 3-Wheeler, Polaris Slingshot, Vanderhall Venice/Laguna, and Campagna T-Rex; I consider them as 3-wheeled cars. I always consider the Can-Am's as motorcycles through-and-through! I already mentioned that Pres. Duterte already rides and owns one and currently parked at his Malacañang Place right now. Thank you for pointed it out and thank you for watching!

Hey if you line up your knee to the bumps you will miss a good amount of those bumps because your knee is on the side of your back tire.

You can up-shift and downshift on a Spyder. They have two models, manual and semi auto.. Posting erroneous content is not a good thing.

I did mention on the video that you can up/downshift on the Spyder, but you can't on the Ryker since the Ryker is a full-on CVT. I've already 'Taste Tested' the 2018 Spyder R3 (w/o video) 2 years ago and I repeatedly mentioned it on the video. I guess you missed it. Thank you & take care!

The only thing that make me consider the Spyder F3 over the Ryker is the Manual Shift option, the Ryker feels too much like the an over-powered Maxi-Scooter! I'm not saying that it's a bad thing. I will check him out, thank you for watching!
