Hey Beth, just wanted to let you know, I installed these yesterday and had the same issue you did with the bottom washer. So what I did was I used a pair of NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS. That way it was easier for me to hold the washer in place in front of the hole. It was so much easier. Just wanted to let you know so you could pass that along to your viewers. Thanks for all you do

I tried the needle nose and found it to hard to get them in there. So I did it by hand and gently let the washer slide down and pushed the bolt right through it. Perfect timing. One was easier than the other if course..
@alvaroguerrero76814 жыл бұрын
I just installed them and what a difference, great product. I have an installation tip for the bottom side to share. I cut a piece of cardboard thick enough to fit snug in the eyelet and long enough to hold the spacers at both sides + a short section to go through both holes in the U bracket/support. Slide the link with the spacers all held together by the cardboard in place and then push out the cardboard with the screw. It is easy and only takes a few seconds and no need to hold it with your hand so bit are free.

Beth is right on how hard that one washer is to put in place. I think I finally got the best way. I took a piece of a plastic straw from the restaurant and cut it off so it is just a little longer than fitting all the way through the lower bar. I then pulled it back a little and put a washer on it. I then put some kids putty around the straw at the hole where the difficult washer will go. I then pressed the washer against the putty real hard. While holding it in place, I withdrew the straw. Then I went about the steps of bolt in, washer on bolt, bolt through the end of the end link, then I pushed the bolt all the way through the difficult washer and out the exit hole. Add the nut on the end. Yes, it leaves a little putty there, but you can either use a toothpick or cotton swab to push some of that off, or you can know it will dry up and just drop off with use. Either way, it does not hinder the movement of the link on its own swivels. Good luck. I hope I saved you the hour of frustration I had before I figured out this way.

Just got these for my Ryker. Nice to know the hard parts so I have things ready. I am pretty sure the bolts on both sides are 10 mm so you are not using a pliers which can slip so easy and smooth the bolts/nuts. One other part is that the install of the end links is fairly easy, but I would need a mechanic to do the install of the sway bar. So glad to try the end links first. Lastly, an old mechanics trick to hold that washer in place, just chew a PIECE OF GUM and use a little bit to hold the washer against the solid part. No need to mess with super glue. Lastly if you read this far, where did you get that simple extension bar for your shifter? There are always many You Tube vids on these projects, but I always go to yours first. Thanks for all your help.

Hi my Ryker angel as you know i pick up my Ryker on Friday but what i’m noticing after watching these videos is that a lot of people are always buying/adding parts which are not cheap to get better performance, seems like it never ends is this just a part of the BIKE club for serious long distance riders, seems to me if you always have to keep buying stuff that Can Am needs to up their Ryker performance or is this stuff ppl are doing more or less just optional, lol I see your very macanically gifted, great videos, Happy Safe Riding
@RykerRydes4 жыл бұрын
Ok first of all, I think it is so kind that you call me your Ryker angel! That is probably the best compliment I have heard! Would you care to share your first name, so I can address you properly, instead of rejj7? lol! As far as the accessories, yes people go crazy (me included) but it is TOTALLY NOT NECESSARY! Some buy the bike because it is so customizable, but not nothing is needed for the bike to have an amazing experience on the bike. It has PLENTY of power just the way it is. Also, as far as me being mechanically gifted....I have NEVER worked on a car or bike in my life. Nothing mechanical at all. That is the reason for my videos, to show people that even if I can do a project, they can too. Plus it saves everyone a lot of money not having to go to the dealership and pay crazy prices for their labor!

Beth - great channel so I subscribed. I would differ on the needfulness of some of the products you have reviewed, as have others. One thing for everyone to keep in mind is that all vehicles are built to a price point. It is obvious there are some shortcomings with the Ryker. Given its very low price point, it is to be expected. There are some things they did very well as they got a lot of the key things right. If you follow the aftermarket industry, you'll see where enough people have found issues to support parts being made to address the issues they have with the Ryker. Maybe you won't have the same issues, maybe you will. Thankfully there are enough Rykers out there to support a robust aftermarket with a lot of offerings to customize your ride as you see fit. Or address the issues you have. You may be very happy with the stock Ryker and how you ride it may be just fine for how you ride. The one thing I would encourage everyone to do is buy the 900 version over the 600 if you can afford it. You'll never regret having the extra HP and likely the resale will hold up better. There are several things Can-am could have done better from the start. Some things to start with would be better horn (wouldn't have added much cost), heated grip option, cruise control option, better seat, better suspension (with remote preload), better mirrors, get rid of the horrible DSS key, bigger motor option, hand brake in addition to the foot brake, and get rid of the clunk when you take off. Having said that it is a lot of fun to ride and few new vehicles at this price point offer the amount of fun the Ryker offers. Still an extra $500 or so the manufacturer level could have made for a much better ride that would cost us thousands to do what they could have for the $500 or so. Beth's videos are always fun to watch and can help you build the Ryker you wish the factory had made for you.

Sorry for the delay. I was waiting for a response from Baja Ron: "Ryker Link Torque - Torque value is 85 inch pounds. Personally, I don't advise using a torque wrench on the end links. They just need to be tight. It is too easy to twist off a bolt with a torque wrench because you have no feel. Also, torque wrenches can get out of calibration if you are not careful with them. Thanks for a great video. What made you decide to go with Baja Ron Sway Bar End Links instead of the SpyderExtras Aluminum Sway Bar End Links from SlingMods? I’m trying to decide between the two.

I think this is the #1 question I get. The simple answer is: the Baja Ron one comes in 3 pieces instead of one, which makes it considerably easier to but on (I hope). I plan on doing it this week!
