Great tutorial video, John. As ALL your videos are very clear and easy to follow. When our weather permits here in Illinois, I am readying myself to change the Coolant, replace the Fuel Filter, and Transmission Filter. Oil Change was completed last Fall. The season is getting closer. RIde On.......Enjoy. Thanks again.

Thanks John. Just got my "new"2018 Ltd and am busy checking and topping fluids. On the subject of plastic pushpins and their gromments, spray some white litium grease on the grommets to allow the pins to insert and part easily. Works a treat.

Look for the fuel filter on the right hand side of the RT. According to the maintenance manual it is located on the fuel line by a hose from the fuel tank.

Very informative video. I would humbly suggest using a cheap, Amazon sourced push pin removal tool as a much more efficient way to remove those pesky push pins. Learned this after my son wrecked his Honda CBR250R and had to remove handfuls of pins when I replaced all the damaged panels. Thanks to you and Miriam for reminding those of us who are older the importance of being screened for skin cancer. It's such an easy thing to do to prevent a very avoidable tragedy.

Love your channel. I am about the same age as you with hopefully about the same mechanical ability as you. You might be a little more confident than me though LOL. I have a 2013 with the 998 motor, so not sure how similar the maintenance would be. However, your video sure give me a good start. Thanks again from Canada. Still waiting for Spring.

Practice Practice Practice. I have to say I learned a lot form working on my own airplanes (under the direct supervision of a friend who was also an FAA certified Mechanic.) Even to the point of pulling the engines apart several times. It was much cheaper than having my a local shop do it.

998 motor quite different but if you take your time it's do able. The oil change was a bit of a challenge, didn't do an air filter change I think that is well hidden on top of the motor. Did front brakes but not rear as there is a ride sensor for the rear suspension, wow did I say easy maybe not.

The fuel filter should be located to the right and forward of the ignition switch. You need to remove the tank cover panel to access the filter. Caution the fuel system will/maybe pressurized.

John, I thought when you change the coolant, that you need to make sure that you don't have any air pockets in the system? Shawn Smoak mentioned that in one of his videos. Just checking. I have a 2020 RTL I did my first oil change myself but not the coolant yet because I only have 3400 miles on it. Great video John!

For removing the mirrors, have you considered the SlingMod mirror magnets? That was one of the first upgrades I made, the other being the key cover to allow me to put the key on a ring instead of the little cap. I will have to do the oil change in a few months, so I will be watching that video soon. I see that you have the K&N filter, is that the one that you clean, re-oil, and re-use like the ones in the cars (which I LOVE!)?
