This is probably the best video you guys have done so far. It's immensely entertaining, maybe it's because you're not taking it too seriously due to the subject matter? I thought the music worked really well in the video, even though I'm not a rave fan, as it added to the fun of it all. More like this please, fun music + dicking about mixed with the video and audio quality you guys are putting out is a winning formula in my eyes. The Spyder itself, not my cup of tea, but it is cool, and it is different. Well done to Can-Am for building it, I hope it's a success.

They look fucking cool, like a snowmobile for the road. I wouldn't have one instead of a bike, but I'd have one alongside.

That laughter the first time he drifted it cracked me up. I would like to try it some time, but I think I would grow tired of it very quickly. I would probably use it to go shopping, and then choose my bike for any other ride

I took a few of these out. More people need to try one before they pass judgement. There's flat out anger from random people over these in the U.S. and it's very bizarre. People fearing the unknown I suppose. I found them to be very fun. They aren't motorcycles, they are their own thing entirely. A snowmobile for the road is one of the better ways I've seen them explained. The benefits are being out in the open air, there is feel and some skill to push them hard. It was fun to take hard corners and freeway on/off ramps with the inside wheel lifting up. They also stop really well, powerful brakes on them. It was very hot the day I was riding and it was pretty nice to just flop on the seat when dragging through bumper to bumper traffic and also pretty nice to just flop there waiting for lights to change. Much much lower effort in stop and start traffic than being on a bike in an area where lane splitting is illegal. They are different, they are fun, that is the point. They aren't made to solve a daily transportation need. They are a fun cruiser. In the end, they are pretty pricey and for the same money for an F3/t I picked up a R1200GS/A. My decision was that the advantages of two wheels, narrower, more maneuverable, were something I wanted. If I had a larger pile of play money, a house paid for etc, I would easily have one of these to add to a collection. With limited time to ride and limited budget, I just didn't think it was the right time yet. Totally worth the ride, way more fun than I'd expected and I came pretty close to owning one truly.

Chris Esser As a biker you'd always spend the money on a bike first. But if I wasn't a biker and just a cager it might get a look. I don't doubt it's loads of fun though. I'd love a blast on one, but I'd only purchase if I could afford several bikes in the garage first. Pricey.
@1990-t1j5 жыл бұрын
The first minute of the video: the area I ride in every day. It isn't a toy if you live in a hot country. A good alternative to a car if you don't like cars. I think I prefer it to the Niken. It's the 1330 triple engine that attracts me. I'd certainly go for the sportier one. A light bike for when you want to be on two wheels. Great scenery in the most attractive country in southern Europe.

So many closed minded people here. I think it looks like a hoot to ride. As the baroness said, its something completely different, and that's okay. In fact its fantastic. Its looks like the best way to have it would be a nice set of super sticky front wheels and a really slippery rear so that you can just drift it everywhere. I could see, if people would be open to new things, this being just what a lot of people would want. To me i kind of see this as a bit of a GSXR-750. Not quite a litre bike, not quite a 600, but still an amazing package all the same

Engine Works, My wife trtraded her Yamaha 950 for. Spyder RT in 2012.I said at the time, "that's great for you but I'll never want to give up two wheels." But over the next year I rode hers enough to get comfortable with how they handled, and then I rode the RS-S sport version (now out of production). I was sold. I now have had my Spyder RSS for four years next month. I still have two motorcycles, but I spend most of my time on that.

They are nice on cruddy roads, gravel isn't as much of a concern at all. However the belt drives don't particularly like it when they suck up stones. So they are very stable on lousy loose surfaces but you have to be mindful of stones getting lodged into the belt drive. They aren't meant to be hammered over true trails, the clearance just isn't there.

I'd say the market is more towards the (fun/weekend) car replacement then it is to replace bikes. Honestly want one. This instead of a little convertible "sports" car to tour on a bit. Sure, I'll take it! similar money to maybe something like a nice second hand BMW z4 or porsche boxter or something like it. (don't think one of those will get the maniac laugh at the 3min mark in the video) it won't ever replace a bike though. As it has a lot of drawbacks of both a bike and a car.. without many of the benefits.. For me, the normal bike is a cafe racer type, not great for the long tour. the car (suv) is a bit boring for the long tour.. Don't really see myself on a GS/multistrada/africatwin/etc (obviously other bikes are available for touring) so... nice middle ground maybe to add to a garage instead of a sporty-ish convertible.

I see a few here in the states -- thousands of miles of wide dead straight roads and (in all states except California) no filtering. Pensioners, disabled folks, and people that want to at least feel like they're riding an actual bike without the balancing bit are the market. Not defending the thing -- I've never even sat on one.
