Amazon just opened its largest office building yet in Hyderabad, India. The new space represents the company’s commitment to the Indian market, where it faces steep competition from Walmart-owned Flipkart. Despite recently introduced regulations that make it difficult for foreign-owned e-commerce companies to compete, Amazon is adopting new retail strategies as it looks to India as its next major growth market.

Amazon is voted as the most "trustworthy" brand by the Indian consumers. The prime reason it is way ahead of Flipkart and Snapdeal is its customer-centric approach, reliability and the trust consumers have on it. In India, you have to pay the price for customer's sentimental value. Once a customer gone, it's hard to get back the loyalty.

I'd much rather spend my money in local shops and help their life improve rather than help Amazon grow even larger and have more power. In the end, Amazon will cost you more than local shops if they get market dominance. This has been proven time and again in the Western nations. Anyways, Flipkart was always better than Amazon. The only reason to get Prime in Amazon is for the Prime Videos.
