I played BM a few weeks ago. Beautiful course! It was fun playing with Dakota last week. Great guys 👍

I live in Asheville. Cool to see a vlog of area courses that I’ve played. Springdale is on deck for Saturday.

My favorite course around Asheville. So long as it hasnt been raining like crazy, this course stays in great shape and is a fun little challenge.

Bro I’m telling you. There’s something about #10. I’ve done the same thing on that hole… taught me to never go long again there😂

This might be the first time I saw you get a little rattled and a little negative. Set some high expectations for the round, but you need to do that and challenge yourself some times. Next time out just shoot for 85, have some fun and give yourself a break. I don't think it's good to be always pressing - IMO. Still really enjoyed the round Mr Not So Average golfer. Yeah maybe you should have hit a provisional on the 5th hole, but still I would not take two strokes. If you had looked long enough you most likely would have found it and would have taken an unplayable lie. Plus I think most courses would want you to just put a ball in play and not go back to the tee - I have even seen it on score cards...hit into the woods take one stroke. When I used to play with my friends that is how we handled it. Just my two cents on that one.

No, he did the right thing. The guy is trying to get better not be a hack. I was once leading a tourney and took the two shot penalty instead of going back. I should have gone back and made a double, instead I made a triple. I still won the tournament though. He's gotten much better. His chipping is as good as mine and I'm close to a scratch. We both putt like Hellen Keller although he did make some real nice saves this round.

@@poohlover3996 I get your point, but for the average weekend golfer like me, it would not make sense to go back and rehit. It's more about knowing the right thing to do so you do not mess up when it means something....like in a tournament. I just think "hack" is a bit of a strong word. But hey I am a 20 hcp golfer....right now anyway, so what do I know.

Yeah this was the first time that I really felt like I had to play my BEST golf from the get go if I wanted to get under 80 rather than be surprised that I'm playing good golf halfway through the round and THEN try to go for sub 80. That 5th hole is a tricky one, I've had shots hit trees and be in the middle of the fairway more often than not but there's a fenceline and small creek over there as well that I think it probably got held up in.
@PerfectlyAverageGolf2 жыл бұрын
LOL that putter comment sent me because HOLY has it been hot and cold lately. Ideally a provisional off the tee would have had me in the fairway but that recovery shot was as good as I've hit in recent rounds so I can't be upset with it
@PerfectlyAverageGolf2 жыл бұрын
It depends on what you're out there trying to do I think. Before I started the channel I wouldn't go back to rehit and rarely took provisionals unless I REALLY shanked one. If the goal is to go out and hit more good shots than bad, then so what. However once I started really wanting to push score I think you have to take the proper punishment to really evaluate where things have gone wrong through the round. All in all there's no harmed ego and even though a lot of us want to go out and scare par on every hole, things like that just show how tough this game can really be lolol

Good stuff as always man. You got breaking 80 in the bag. Just wasn't your day. Keep it up

We're closer and closer each time. Really it's just eliminating small mistakes that don't really feel like mistakes until the round is over lol
@flicbic34062 жыл бұрын
@@PerfectlyAverageGolf that's exactly right. I went and played Saturday, and I shot a 92. But I always look back after and look at how many small mistakes I made and how many strokes it cost me when I'm done. And it makes me feel better knowing if I could just eliminate those small things, then my score would of been.. you know? And I gave away 7 strokes on Saturday so woulda been looking at a 85. But I'm newish to golf and figuring it all out. Either way you still did great man

Black Mountain. Destroying golfers confidence, one quirky hole, and 100 goofy lies at a time. Ball above your feet in thick grass in the fairway. Ball below your feet, right next to a tree. Where's the fairway? IDK, they didn't cut it this month. I think I hit the fairway? Wait, is my ball embedded in a pile of mud? I thought I was in the fairway. Not to mention you need a hard hat to play it, with holes paralleling each other throughout the 18, and 25+ handicaps everywhere you look. It's just dumb to rip a perfect drive 260 and be 20 yards short of the green, and see your ball buried in thick rough, with a lob wedge in your hand, having no idea how this will release from the lie or from the club. I played it two weeks ago for the 100th time, and I think that'll be my last trip there. It's just never in even fair shape off of the greens to take it seriously. Not a single hole I would consider fair either. Nothing like having the road cut across the 18th hole right where you should be able to hit a drive. But it's cheap, so it attracts hundreds of golfers from miles around.

Yeah I mean I think for the cost it's a pretty solid option if you're looking to get out there and get a round in but it's DEFINITELY not a couse I rate super high at all. I enjoy it, it's pretty, it's a good long iron course to play but other than that I'm not expecting it to blow me away ever
