I think one advantage overlooked can be not being conservative with the air. Canned air I'm hoping to not run out but with an Air duster you can just just go crazy with it. Just bought one out and plan to use it as much as I can

Canned air is very convenient but I have to use two cans at a time if I don't want to wait for the pressure to build up again. I think if you can use both the canned air and the Opolar then it would allow you to use less canned air and the task will be quicker because of the longer use with the Opolar. The canned air is really good because of the straw fitting into thin spaces.

Excellent comparison, it really helped me. Thank you. One often-overlooked consideration is that custer cans have a propellant that often is a heavy greenhouse gas. While visiting Australia from the US, I wanted a way to clean grit out of my phone's USB connector, but it was hard to find these cans of dusters in Australia. I found them at officeworks, but they were 3x as expensive as I expected. I think it's because these cans are pretty bad, environmentally. So that's what led me to look into these electronic dusters. It was good to see it side-by-side with the good old can. Now I can see that these blowers are pretty powerful, useful for cleaning gadgets, but also many other uses too, like detailing your car, like you said. phone's

I like to use compressed cans of air to dust off my vinyl records, and so many times the liquid propellant sprayed onto the vinyl! Test alone makes me want to get an electric duster. Great video!
@trsskater
@trsskater 3 ай бұрын
If you are spraying propellent it's because you aren't using it properly like most people. The can says do not shake. I understand why you shake it because that's how you keep the pressure up when it starts to go down. But that will just allow the propellent to be able to shoot out. And it's a hazard because the liquid inside can be as low as -50°F when it comes out of the can.

Thanks to this video I was able to make an informed choice and and managed to get one of these for about $60. I found the output of air comparable to canned air but it being able to stay sustained for longer made a difference in getting the dust to shift and the vacuum works well for larger dust bunnies. If I had to critique anything it's that I wish the nozzles/attachments were narrower to fit into some tighter spaces but overall I think this is a worthwhile investment for my use case and not having to worry about getting canned air.

1) You should spray compressed air in a straight position without leaning a can back or forward then it will not spit liquid 2) Spray with a serie of short presses instead one long, it will be so much more effective and longer lasting. 3) If your compressed air can losing its power and its not ran out of gas (air) yet, your can put it under hot water for several seconds to bring its strength back, it is safe ✌️

Even though it could get expensive using canned air, a lot of reviews of these blowers say they fizzle out within a year or so. So we're not really comparing $100 blower versus 15 cans of air, but also replacing/fixing the blower every year too. So unless the blower will last for years on end or has perpetual free warranty replacement, if it's breaking every year, it probably doesn't save any money in the long run.

Is the blowing force test at 3:25 reliable? I just saw another video about a 110,000 rpm electric air duster. The uploader said that it is still not as strong as the air duster compressed can. The advantage of cans that the electric air dusters don't have is the initial strong bursts as long as the can is more than half full and not cold.

I turned a Wagner paint sprayer into a ridiculous high velocity air blower by taking off the grey and black sprayer tips and fitting an exact fit removable flexible tip which was the same diameter as the yellow ring on the Wagner. This thing blows hard, way harder than anything that is currently on the market. My thinking was if this thing had enough air power to draw paint out of the hopper and atomize it then how strong would a concentrated version be. If you have one of these laying around experiment with it👍.

@@dangerous8333 I've bought it Dan it's worth having and to be honest its main function is a blower, but it's not a disadvantage to have additional functionality (vacuum). Vacuuming is not too strong, I usually use it to clean my carpet or everything that doesn't need a heavy duty vacuuming. A tip from me, If you want to use it as a blower, make sure to detach the dust chamber (blue transparent plastic thingy) from its main body, because you will get the maximum power of the blower and it's strong (you still need brushing for thick dust to be blown).

"After his epic game session" the keyboard looked like sh*t, I guess he forgets to get plates. Also if you have an expensive keyboard you try to take care of it.

Canned air only won a few times because it shoots a harder stream because of the diameter of the straw... Remove the straw and see how well it works... Edit: Just realized you addressed this in your video... Cool! Also, canned air can't "vacuum," so there's that...

I had this duster and it was actually very good when it was working. When i first got it out of the box it had something rattling around inside. I managed to get it out and it was a piece of metal about 3mm long. All was working good until about 1month later and i started to notice the speed of the motor was fluctuating and sometimes when i switched it on it would stutter for a few seconds before actually working properly. After another 2months the motor gave up completely and just stopped whilst i was using it. Even though it was still within the 1 year manufacturers warranty as stated on the box. Opolar refused to do anything about it. Even though it stats in the instruction manual that for all warranty claims you need to contact Opolar. After the first 2 emails i had sent and got replies to they then started completely ignoring my emails. I sent around 4 or 5 emails which i got no reply to at all. So from my personal experience i would AVOID opolar because they dont care about their customers.

Seems like all the ways you used the canned air was handicapping it. Someone already pointed out holding it without shaking, and short bursts.

When comparing blowing time, you didn't factor in that a can needs time for it's liquid inside to expand into gas to build pressure back up. You just let the can empty its pressure and said it was over after 30 seconds. You didn't mention the wait time to get even more air being available

I stopped using compressed air cans 6 years ago and replaced it with a xpower air duster. I paid only $35.

7:44 Not sure if someone else brought this up, but this is user error. You didn't switch the mode to blower so it was venting out of the side assuming that you were using the vacuum. All that switch does is cover up the exhaust vents so the air only comes out of the nozzle.

Sorry must have not been clear in the video. I meant that the air is ejected out the side when you vacuum which blows things off my desk. I'll try to be more clear next time

That product is a little weak if you ask me. Where I live a tiny car compressor costs like 4 cans. It might be small but is even overpowered to clean a computer so I don't let the PSI go very high. Now I can clean my computers and inflate tires and pool stuff.

thats an interesting idea. I might actually try that, they sell battery powered little compressors at costco

@@dettsguide6916 Oh also you need an inexpensive accessory that looks like a gun (I don't know the English name lol) to build the air and burst it. If you hold the trigger it's constant and weak, good for getting rid of the dust chunks that falls inside the case.
