Completely understood when you said that corded was the way to go. Rechargeable lithium ion batteries are convenient but suck in the long run once their charge cycle comes to an end.

Indeed!
@McDudes
@McDudes 10 ай бұрын
I googled the live cycle and found "2 to 3 years or 300 to 500 charge cycles" so if you just use it to clean your computer every other month of so then it should last almost 50 years? Edit nvm seems to be whichever comes first. So then yeah guess it wouldn't last past 3 years either way.

I had a similar issue. I bought a rechargeable water sprayer to use to mist my reptile enclosures, and I've moved back to spraying with a generic bottle because its just a hassle to charge the battery when it needs it, especially when it dies in the middle of the job. Corded would give more power, last longer, and is a better price. Thanks for this video.

I was actually looking for kind of a top 10 comparison, but the top 6 KZbin search results are all just collections of marketing footage with cheap voice over, with no real comparison or critique of the products. So, yours is the first review that actually discusses the issues involved. What I'd really like to see is something like the reviews at Project Farm, but that's expensive, so I'm not going to hold you to that standard. Since you mention wearing ear protection, I expect that it matters how loud these things are. Project Farm would surely use a sound meter to gauge that. Project Farm would also have measured air speed at the nozzle. Again, all of that is a lot of work, so I'm not hold you to that standard. But, I'm definitely going to upvote you for being better than the top 6 KZbin results. Oh, and good job on the links, very thorough. And, thanks for the tip on the filters; I've not seen those before.

This looks really good. I have an old Dell desktop that I have been using for 11 years and it still is working ok. I have replaced some case fans, the power supply, and HDD. I clean the dust out of it once or twice per year. This blower looks really good. A must have for a PC tech shop. I gave up on canned air for the reasons you've stated. I have a small vacuum with an exhaust hose and nozzle that works well for me. I also use a small, soft paint brush to loosen heatsink dust. Thank you for this video.

Hey there! Thanks for sharing your detailed review of the XPOWER A-2S Electric Air Duster. It's clear that you're really impressed with its performance and build quality. I've been thinking about getting an electric air duster for my PC as well, and your review has convinced me that the XPOWER A-2S is a great choice. I also appreciate your tips on positive air pressure and using fine mesh fan filters. It's good to know that these measures can help keep dust out of your PC and reduce the need for frequent cleaning. One question I have is, did you experience any issues with static electricity while using the XPOWER A-2S on your PC components? I've heard some concerns about that with electric dusters, so I'd love to hear your experience. Overall, thanks for the informative review, and I'll definitely consider getting the XPOWER A-2S for my PC cleaning needs.

wow thanks for this video seriously I was 2 hours deep into this rabbit hole thinking what’s the best way without spending a lot of money, $55 for this ain’t bad at all, for 15 years I used my dads air compressor in his garage to dust out my pc but I built a new one this year so I was so paranoid about water blowing out from it somehow…it’s like a motor air compressor from the 80s and I really wasn’t sure how the water trap system worked on it so $55 to be safe for $900 pc worth it lol

For anybody wondering you have to hold your fan down because when a fan spins up it creates electricity. It's basically just a generator. When an electric motor is spinning it is creating electricity.

5 years ago, I bought this, Green Slime color. Doing my PC again this evening. I am trying to find, or might build, a VENTURI attachment for it: I could hook that up and for other items, It would blow soapy water/air on the item. I tried to get the grunge off a monster 18" window fan. Only 75% improvement. BTW, mine came with about ten attachments, from Amazon 5 years ago.

Thank god someone comes along with a quality review about an electric duster that isn't a complete idiot. I clicked off about 5 different videos about electric dusters because in the first 5 seconds the collection of words "I was sent this" was said. Anyone with even a moderate amount of knowledge should know that it isn't physically possible for anything handheld battery powered to provide enough power for the air flow to be comparable to traditional air duster yet I scrolled through video after video of people making that claim.

the problem of fans spinning too fast from powerful air cleaning is not from any of those things you mentioned. What happens is that the electric motor in the fan (when spun by an external force) basically works in reverse like a mini generator. electric generators and motors are fundamentally the same device internally. So this problem can apply to all electromotors unlese they have spesific protection curcuits against it (reverse chrrent). So if you spin your 2000rpm fan up to 6000rpm with a powerful air stream then you may be sending a considerable amount of reverse current into the motherboards fan controller. If it bas no protection against reverse current then unsurprisingly it may be permanently damaged. Speeds way i excess of spec can also damage the fans bearings, although that takes some doing. It is unlikely to kill your whole motherboard, but that port and any other ports on the same control circuitry can cease working. Just so people don't get all paranoid about this - it takes a significant amount of rpm on a fan, usually sustained for a while, to do damage.

The reason why you hold the fan so it doesnt over spin is several, 1, its probably not rated for the spin its about to receive neither forwards or backwards thus wearing it out quicker, 2, when you free spin a fan it can in some cases become a generator, and 3, because you want to clean the fan not watch it spin like your in the 1920s and seen a fan spin for the first time in your life. :D

About holding the fans, I killed most of my case fans and all my GPU fans by allowing them to spin faster than they're supposed to, while cleaning it with a leaf blower. Air duster are a good solution for save money and clean well the case. Anyway as I advice usually there are some brands with really good air filter and built to be more dust proof than others. Put filter in front of fan is good but dust will come from other small holes in case. Some case have good filter as your all in the front, top and bottom of case plus back vents are closed to minimize dust to enter PC. Usually these case are more expensive.

Thank you for this video! I ended up buying the A2 because the A2s isn't available :( I have to stick with just having the window open though, can't bring my PC outside :(

Can it be used to clean laptop fan and vent without opening the back panel of laptop? I mean will it do the job?
@Plexez
@Plexez 2 жыл бұрын
I’m a bit mixed on this idea. I wouldn’t recommend it too much, it could send dust deeper into the laptop. However, I’d maybe do it if I’m really lazy or if it’d void the warranty by opening it, most of the dust would probably be removed.

DIY option is to use a hairdryer. Make sure it has a cold function though.

yeah I hear you about the battery and cords but it's just not quite feasible for me. my home is carpeted and I don't want the dust anywhere near my home. I clean my pc outside but there's just no good way to hook up a power cord so far out. A cordless duster fits me the best. Be nice if you make a video about which cordless one you'd recommend

I use it in my little garden and I use the outside outlet (that I use for electric lawnmower). That thing is really powerful even at low speed. This is not the cheapest, especially compared to the cordless ones but it's really powerful.

What about a battery powered leaf blower ? Like a Milwaukee M12 Cordless Compact Spot Blower (0852-20).

I like how your never really allowed to hear the machine running to get a feel on how powerful the fan is from what i could hear over the loud voice over the blower didn't sound that powerful and from watch it blow air seems way weaker than the compress air can that he sprayed a few times

You have other videos. This device packs a punch. Air flow is powerful enough to clean up your PC case without damaging the components. Air cans just do not have that strong constant air flow. They even squirt some liquid from time to time and I do not want that on my motherboard or 2000$ GPU.
