Yess anyone employed in govt or private or self can join the TA except a person employed by State Police or CAPF's.

No if you already served and opt army terms into your professional concern then you couldn't able to opt for any other civil service examination

No Marcos is the commando unit of Indian Navy that requires specialised training in the field itself

No, you can't join. TA is open only in the Infantry arm of the Armed forces. But, you can get deputed for a short time, but that would need such fitness and training, I doubt any serving IAS can do that, even if he is also a TA officer.

What stupid argument is this? Armed forces are too gaurd territorial integrity and interest, and take offensive actions in and out of the territory. Police ( excluding CAPFs and Coast Gaurd) is a law enforcement agency and are defensive units. That too only limited inside indian territory and EEZs. How are these two services even comparable?

@matte- Less are chances unless NDA entry..If you will join Army as an officer via CDS or Tech/Non Tech/University entry..after your training period i.e OTA- 11 Months & IMA- 18 Months once you will be a commissioned officer, minimum you have to Serve 10 Year except you are medically unfit. Ex - joined at 21, completed training at 22, then 22+10 =32 , 32 in Max limit for UPSC for general Category. So you have all Stats in front of you. Quite difficult for an Army Officer to prepare for UPSC due to very busy schedule.

In Sri Lanka lowest grade SLAS officer is equal to the rank of Lt. Colonel. I think it is same in India for IAS officers. But Why this gentlemen ranked Capt and Maj.
