It's interesting to see Rennala finally getting a win, especially because in this situation, one of her main weaknesses ended up being a strength. Because she doesn't move much, she wouldn't end up grouped up, which means Malenia could only lifesteal and apply scarlet rot to one of them at a time, while the others rained damage from afar. Not to mention the moon spell that would make her immune, buying time for the others to deal damage.

It's not just her moving less. Rennala has one of the highest attack ranges in the game, so she can engage from almost any point in the arena. On top of that, the vast majority of her movement is retreating from melee range or sidestepping when at a distance, unlike most bosses who consistently advance towards the target (also compare to Elden Beast). Furthermore, they already start in a circle surrounding Malenia, so the Rennalas are in a perfect position to immediately start attacking and then slowly dance around Malenia while she can't get any Waterfowl or Aeonia AoE in. Results would possibly differ had the Rennalas been bunched up initially, but they'd still naturally tend towards scattering given enough time.

She does in fact have more base damage than Maliketh, it's just her area scaling that holds her back. The damage multiplier in Raya Lucaria is 1.7 while it's 2.8 in Farum Azula. Personally I would love to see more videos where bosses were give the same scaling.

The only thing that can break through it is a bleed proc or a frost proc. Though I don't imagine you're really attempting to break Malenia's poise or even attacking at all when she's doing the 1,000 sashimi cut slicer. If you have any basic common sense or character preservation ability lol

This time i was feeling really bad for malenia, even though she won some battles . Tortured by Rennalas. Looked so small and afraid in between those 5 fire giants and Placis. Malikeths gave her no time to even think and the worst death. 5 Hoarah Louxs/ Godfreys just kept beating her till the end. And of course, 5 Astels looked even more creepy !

They were given an extra health bar though. Normally they phase transition halfway, not at the end of their bar.

Actually the big bar you see in his boss fight is loux's. He transitions at half bar after reaching 1 of his HP out of 11k and then enters loux who also has 11k. Here the same happened but there was no ui big bar. After all Godfrey has 22k hp in total

You probably want to try keeping them consistent, to avoid confusion. But otherwise, if it's too much hassle, don't worry about it. Great vid as always👍

24:50 lol, Scarlet Aeonia's super telegraphed and deterministic how to dodge in her boss fight, after which she stays in place so long that it's a massive damage window where you can easily drop 1/4 of her health bar with incants, spells or throwables. If she'd do that move four times in a row in phase 2, she'd be dead after that with how open that move leaves her. There are a lot of things in the boss fight that make her difficult or even unfair to some, but Scarlet Aeonia is just cheesy the first time as a phase 2 opener and after it's the easiest move to deal with. Aside from that, nothing can be broken in boss vs boss, because they were never designed to fight each other. She's definitely not my favorite fight in Elden Ring, but I don't understand all the hate she gets especially given that she's an optional boss in the highest level area of the game.
