The Malenia one is super interesting. You'd think that she'd just get stunned and melted like all the other low poise, somewhat low health bosses before she has time to get her healing off. But her hurtbox is so small that only a few dogs can attack her at a time, so she ends up living through the stun and then cleans up like 40 dogs with a single Waterfowl Dance. Weird fight, not how I'd expect that one to go at all

Starved dogs are absolutely terrifying. I remember encountering them for the first time, and besides their odd appearance, their pure primal aggression was somehow realistic enough to kinda activate that predator-detecting fight or flight part of my brain. They did, indeed, act like starving dogs. And at their size, they would give you absolutely no quarter, unlike many other enemies in Elden Ring. Hell, even those hand abominations were more manageable than these. Of course, I did get pretty good at beating them while training myself, but damn, it's still hella stressful.

The elden beast is such a beautiful fight, the first time my brother and I got radagon down we were absolutely stunned at the elden beast and proceeded to get rolled for hours before finally beating it. Love that game

Thing is there was a common trait among the winners. They all have some form of rather potent aoe they can use at some point of the fight. Whether it be damage over time zone, your typical aoe, or just bs lingering hit boxes their attacks can mow down armies.

I thought malenia would at least get beaten in her first phase but not only did she beat all 50 of them in her 1st phase but her health bar completely regenerated at that 😂😭

So, the lesson here is that there are 3 types of enemies which can win this fight: those with massive AOE, those that are immune to stagger effects, and those which can become invulnerable

a few of the losses were based purely on the ai's choice of attacks, like how for some reason the noble didn't use his roll attack after his transition even though he does that like 99.9% of the time, or how the Regal Ancestor Spirit probably would've won if it had used either the jump attack or one of the spirit pool attacks, and actually, if Fire Giant hadn't used that particular attack, the dogs might've actually won against him too

Astels tail attack got him killed. Though, there wasn't a whole lot of hope for him. But had he done the triple gravity spell, I think he'd win.

@@BaldorfBreakdowns The issue there is, as far as I can tell Astel's first two attacks are scripted At least in my experience, every time I have ever fought Astel he has always opened with the laser beam and then done that tail attack.

@@Midnight-wh2bs its because the ranges. It starts with you across the room and the lazer is his across the room attack. And the tail is his next long range attack when you get in a certain distance, which you need to get into to be able to do anything.

Pretty much what I expected, any enemy with heavy AOE or sweeping attacks that doesn't stagger like they're on stilts obliterates the pack. Very interesting how they won't attack Fortissax.

Props to the dog that manages to avoid fortissax's perfect right at the end, just before he got recked in one blow. Legend has it Fortissax is still pissed.
