Seeing all these videos makes one thing clear. Rolling and having I-frames is the most OP ability. The attacks these bosses can't dodge and are a death sentence for them are a matter of pressing B at the correct time for us. This would straight up look hacking from the bosses perspective.

I did it yesterday. Twelve tries. No summons, no greatshield. NG+4, RL510. What a fantastic fight. I'd been spoiled so I'd heard a lot of people say he was OP and undodgeable and stuff like that, so I just remembered how people said the same about Malenia who I no hit on a daily basis as a summon, so I mentally prepared myself to just figure him out and beat him pretty soundly. I used a one handed Smithscript Cirque and a Messmer Soldier Shield with Carian Retaliation, because I figured out that parrying him is not only viable, but outright the best way of taking him down. What a fantastic fight.

Just beat Rellana…I want to like the DLC but the glaring issues I’m seeing with some of the bosses is this, my shit sometimes does not dodge…I will hit dodge and my guy will will take 2 or three steps and the attack will miss but my guy doesn’t dodge…with that the bosses will spam the same attack back to back to back. I want to like this DLC but it’s hard too because of the glaring issues. My system is registering I’m hitting dodge but the game is not and it’s frustrating because he makes an endless attack combo impossible because to dodge them all accurately. I could do a fresh install but that cleared my buddies Bells and that means I will have to re get them all. With my dodge input being shotty and the normal delay in the mechanic of the engine it makes some of the fast attacks impossible even after dodging one I will hit dodge again and can’t dodge. Unless they adjusted the overall mechanic of dodging or slowed down the attacks it’s just cheap difficulty and akin to bloatware. Rellana is a perfect example. On my second attempt I got her down to 20% health and if I would’ve attacked during phase change I would’ve killed her but I didn’t know. She reused the double spin 6 slash followed by the double slash and repeated it. I dodged 22 times and my stamina was out and still ate a few hits and died. That proceeded to happen multiple times where the combo started exceeding almost 30 hits. Issues where I get hit and I can’t dodge despite Scudatree lvl 4 and Shadow lvl 5 with 61 poise and 590 robustness. I get stun locked despite the animation not happening and I can’t do anything. The fire attack I got hit with the flame once and my froze in the animation for 2 seconds and couldn’t move then the boss Molywhopped me. If one attack lands and you get stun locked into oblivion and die with defense enhancing talismans, moderately heavy armor and stat points. These issues are annoying and cheap. I died a lot. And was robbed on the 2nd, 9,12,13,17,18,19,24,28, 33,34,35 (used mimic tear) and 36th time killed her. I don’t mind a difficult boss but when the boss goes into endless attack loop until your stamina wears out, or cut attack mid animation and continue on another attack with out of the blue. The same attack I could dodge to the left or right and sometimes she would move and side step in a way where the sword is attack BUT it’s stuck in place because of how she moves and that place is the blade is on you so when I frames end you take damage. Everything about this feels so cheap and inflated difficulty. Death Knight was fun and almost balance. The Dragom man is the same thing. The Horned Knights is also nice along with the circle blades goat things. But the main game bosses they artificially inflated the difficulty of a boss that loves so much you can’t get more then a hit in. Double Moonviel katanas (not my normal play style I prefer Great Swords and Curved Great Swords) but a role strike and after she jumps and starts attacking. In phase 2 after she finished a combo any combo she would start attacking right after wards. I would dodge and start healing just to get hit again and if you get to far away in phase 2 she just spams the slash where you can’t dodge because the heal animation is long. Many others are noticing this same issue. Any boss would be hard if you had 0 time to heal.
