Its rare to get a channel reccomended with only a couple thousand subscribers and it actually being quality as hell, but i think you have it. My only criticism is the style youre doing the narrating in. It sounds like youre going for like the youtube historical documentaries voice (ala History Time or Fall of Civilizations) but I think it'd really crush with a more energetic, casual style, maybe something closer to like a CrashCourse or Historia Civilis. This sounds crazy but I think if you incorporated something like the way KZbinrs like DougDoug or Ludwig edit their "I had this zany idea, and here are the results" videos, and the kinetic energy they have through out, you would explode even more so and reach even the only lightly interested in history audiences.

‘Reform the empire by giving more power to the Senate’ lmao
@TheRezro8 ай бұрын
It does ignore core problem of Empire. It must fall, because it actually didn't. Classic Rome ended with Edict of Caracalla, but it is unlikely that Rome would survive in the previous formula. There was a reason why this law was issued. In the long run assimilation of Germanic tribes was nesesery for Rome survival. But that would lead to unavoidable split with the Greeks, who did see Latins as increasingly barbaric. Anyway, Rome would suffer the exact same faith as Byzantium or adopt and become nation states of modern day.

@rippedlincoln9 ай бұрын
I thought so too, which is y I had a second instance of ChatGPT open to simulate the world Turbulentus was in - and this is where the revolts of the 290s come from, tho the second ChatGPT “The Arbiter” still decided that Turbulentus would survive all attempts to overthrow him. They’re both still ChatGPT, obviously, so they’re biased to think alike.

@TheRezro8 ай бұрын
@@rippedlincoln Fun fact. This simulation is basically what did happen. Just in slightly less turbulent and shorter way. I don't think even Rome could stop Islamic conquest? Especially dealing with Germanic invasions from north. Maybe they could defend Hispania, but that is big if? Conquest was stopped by Charlemagne, who was commanding over Gallia, what was capable to expand deep into Germania. Something what AI didn't do. But integration was unavoidable, due to progressing intermixing of local populations. With moving capital to East, what I assume also did happen here for obvious economic reasons. Italia would ironically become impoverished region, hold more for symbolical value. East attempted to reconquer it. But it ended as huge waste of needed resources. It is why it fall to Longobards. Gallia was in far better position to actually expand here. It was not possible to stop Christianity. Constantine simply realized that it make sense to have majority on his side and that is why he did win. But with fall of Africa, only two centers of religion left and that would lead to incensing competition between New and Old Capital. This would speed up division of the Rome between Greeks and Latino-Germans. Gallia itself would also over time split on this line. What did happen. Islam was heavily influenced by two things 1) trade with nearby great kingdoms, where religion and national sovereignty were linked. especially Rome and Aksum played a role, as Christian nations, but also persia and the local Arabian allies also influenced the development by providing an example of what development meant concretely 2) the expulsion by those kingdoms of religious minority groups. Jews and heretical Christians were persecuted by Rome and persia alike, and they often took up merchant lifestyles, which led them to Arabia among other places. This mix of competing monotheist interpretations heavily influenced Muhammed and early Islam. Many of the gains Islam made can (imo) be attributed to local Christians preferring non-distinct monotheism to orthodox rule. Without these two factors is especially, it's hard for me to imagine Islam coming to the fore at all

Amazing video, some parts were pretty realistic and probably would help a lot but some other parts would either not work or get him assassinated, firstly the time he started was very interesting during the crisis of the third century basically taking Diocletians role of the great reformer, some smart things the AI did was reform the economy (similar to Diocletian), reform the law (similar to Justinian). Now the bad, expanding the vote for senators likely would result in some assassination attempts by corrupt senators, and although expanding power to provincial assemblies likely would be a good thing for his support among local aristocracy but any land reform instantly nicks that and would create so many local revolts. Not to mention in this system local military leaders are not decreased in power like under Diocletian, local commanders in this system appear to have direct power and this just increases the likelihood of rebellion. His religious reform also just created a massive power struggle that would surely lead to years of religious strife in the future under different emperors. Not to mention showing such weakness by compromising likely would lead to assassination attempts. The main thing though when looking at this is how sustainable is it under different management, and it appears to me that the senate and local assemblies would be powerless to the appointed positions of military commanders and governors whose only real check is a strong emperor with democratic beliefs, but once say we get to the end of Constantine whose saying he won't degrade the institutions created by the ai. In our timeline, Constantine rose to the rule violently but even he saw the need to reform what Diocletian had created, I find it very likely he would overrule the console and appoint his own heir/heirs if he didn't just throw out the console altogether, and if he didn't surely somewhere down the line someone would. Because at the end of the day there are still no checks or balances put on the emperor itself so any strong man who gets into power will immediately take advantage of the weaknesses in the institution.

I like this video but i think theres some seriously wrong issues with it. Maybe im just wrong but here goes. 1. ChatGPT created an overly beaurocratic empire that would require massive salaries and income to make it work when combined with the army. Theres no way the empire could sfford this despite reform to the coinage. 2. The empire seems to be USA 2000 years earlier without the tech or adavancements in ideology necesary to make it run long term. 3. Part of the 1st point is that the empire now has to oversee the maintenence of way more institutions which requires far far more money than ever. Think of the new cults and religions all getting financial backing, the increased baths and government bodies, schools, etc. 4. The creation of local and provincial governments seems to just give more avenues for revolt as one province can unite if they dont like the emperor and try to overthrow him, this could go on forever. 5. Coinage reform doesnt seem to be enough as the empire would still have a trade imbalance despite the new negotiations leading to capital drain from the empire. 6. The army doesnt really change to fit the new structure of government. What do you all think?
@TheFuelInjected9 ай бұрын
Interesting observation and I agree. It seems Chat GPT assumed it could combine systems from Rome and current Western governments rather than accounting for the economic system that allowed for Western Democracy to develop the way that it has until now. In my estimation it was a combination of competition and innovation through free market ideas and the efficiency of a small government with effecive checks that made America the modern hegemony that it is, not beurocratic overreach and feudal communism.

It was shocking that Commodus seems in this timeline not such a screw up. While, it was very stabilized. I personally think it would be more likely to stay together as education seemed a far more important thing along with basically a provincial senate to each province. The military governor and them would be likely more with the ability to change and adapt to the situation and be able to defend their province. Also, if you get into that kind of system. I think the stagnation and slower advancement might not be such an issue. If they could harness that old tech of the steam engine. Then they could thrust themselves into a industrial revolution.

That’s a big assumption and assuming newer ais don’t become inbred off all the ai content already in the internet
@fish56719 ай бұрын
@@capadociaash8003Inbreeding of AI is bound to happen and problaby already is happening tbh. But since all these AI companies are so huge and the momentum of the industry is so gigantic, a way to fix this 'AI inbreeding' is only a matter of time when it becomes a problem

I always say that an emperor like this would also have to be immortal. It wasnt poor leadership, but aristocratic treachery and usurpers that killer the empire.

I love this. Thinking about America, it would probably benefit from greater regionalism. The culture wars are largely predicated upon the opinions of small minority activists across the country. Refocusing civic engagement on regions that already have a cohesive culture and moral world view would cut back on this radicalism.

Me: (watches this while reconquering the west as a Roman-Greco eastern Roman empress who according to legend is an orphan descended from Caeserion Ptolemy and was raised by a white stag during 873 in CK 3. Plagues keep happening every 5 mins. Halp)

Uhhh set your Doctor (forgot the actual name) to plague prevention, build hospices n shit. Sideline the conquest of the west for now, all those plagues might drain your legitimacy enough that you could start seeing a slow internal collapse. Cant help much without images sadly

Usually the numbers of soldiers in any conflict lost to disease exceed those lost in combat. So, require water be boiled or otherwise treated. Use sanitation in treating wounds, etc... also, measures to control rodents and insect infestations. To avoid plagues. It's not secure but it's practical and keeps more soldiers on their feet and healthy. A good start. Allow men from other countries to obtain Roman citizenship with 5 years of good service in the Roman army. Shorten the service of married soldiers to 5 years instead of 20 or 25 years. Curb decadence that requires huge resource expenditure to obtain; do you really need 5,000 peacock tongues for your party? Less bread and circuses extravaganzas.

I like how Chat GPT decided it was more bureaucracy, expanded government institutions in religion, Healthcare, justice and educatio and essentially economic reforms akin to communism that would save Rome and not embracing a free market economy to promote innovation and introduce more competition in the market to lower the price of goods and perhaps spur an early industrialization.
