I’ve been feeling the urge to be baptized again because I’ve messed up in my past years after I first got baptized, I didn’t understand the true gospel completely, I just knew it was a rule & I believed it’s to follow the right thing when I first got baptized at age 13 because I cared what god thought of me, but as I grew up I had a fallout from my struggles & changed to thinking it was okay to live normal as everyone else, but when I actually started reading scripture & more in tune about him this year I realized the whole belief I had was not as I thought at first when I was young. It changed my mind & I want to live it right in may & Today I was woken up to an urge about baptism & to seek the lord in prayer

God is good, God is kind he is wonderful. I can see that when you were 13 and got baptized you didn't really understand the gospel that well, and didn't understand the real meaning of why you got baptized, so I think in this kind of situation, now that you understand the real meaning of what baptism means u should get baptized again, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, there's a similar story as yours in the Bible in Acts 19, you should check it out, and you will get your answer from the Bible.

I had a similar experience, I was baptized at 11 after a brief talk with the pastor and repeating his prayer, and after that I didn't change my life at all and continued to live the way I did because I was ignorant to the gospel and didn't understand it, and in high school I started to fall out of faith, even becoming agnostic because I couldn't understand everything, I knew something was out there, I just didn't feel in tune with the Holy Spirit, and recently I decided to be saved truly, and fully put my faith in Christ, so I will be baptized a second time around because I fully understand the gospel and want to live by the teachings of Jesus

Thank you for this insight! I was on the fence of getting re-baptized. I was baptized in 10/2003, I went to Sunday school and Bible study and learned about Christ when i was 7-8 years old. I learned but i don’t believe that it was registered in my spirit YET but as i grew up in the faith and going through life ups and downs trying to figure it out, i grew to know God/Christ. This video answered that pending thought. I have rededicated myself to Christ and getting more serious about my walk.

I was baptized when I was in my mother's hands.. I might have been only 2years old.. then I accepted Jesus as my saviour when I turned 17. I still haven't received my holy spirit too and was praying about constantly. And recently I've been thinking about rebaptism but wasn't sure of it. And yesterday I got to hear a message from an evangelist in India... and later read acts 2:38... then got an urge to be baptized again in the name of Christ and now after seeing this video.. I think I must be baptized in the name of Christ as a sign of my repentance and to receive the holy spirit... praise be to the Lord .. Amen!

Many times since I got saved I have doubted if I really am born again and struggled with this question. I thank God for my old pastor who helped me work through this. He led me to Sciptures which showed that we do still sin and as long as we confess them in Jesus name and repent, we will be forgiven. The biggest answer is found in the Bible, as is all our questions like these. There is NO evidence in the Bible of anyone getting re-baptised, to me that says it right there. We are to be as Here and and search out Gods Word continually, using that as our guidance and not our own thinking or others opinions. God bless you all. Linda (vangogo).

I made the decision to get baptized at the age of 13, I felt God’s presence and it was something I had to do. As the years past I drifted apart from God, I stopped praying, I turned away from him, I was still going to church but that’s all I did and I wasn’t keeping a relationship with Him. Now that I’m 19, I was losing my faith to the point where I said that God wasn’t real anymore because there was so much happening in my life. I was also struggling with sin. But God opened my eyes and helped me find my way back to Him. He’s given me a purpose now, He’s given me peace and love. He’s my best friend. He’s my strength. I just think that I was too immature at the age of 13 to truly understand what it meant to be a follower of Christ. So what do you think, I kinda feel the need to get baptized again for this reason. Or should I just continue to grow my relationship with God. I’m praying everyday so God can help me understand and know what I need to do.

Hey Randy! Thank you for sharing your story. My journey is similar to yours in that I got baptized at a young age and didn't fully understand what it meant to follow Christ. I also get that you had a time of drifting away. Even with this happening, it doesn't mean you weren't a real believer or that your baptism wasn't genuine. I would reflect back on when you were baptized. Even though you did not know everything, was it sincere? Walking away could have been rebellion, but if the baptism was sincere then it doesn't need to be done again. If you reflect and realize it was not sincere and that you weren't actually a believer, then it may need to be something you need to do again. Personally, I think the reflection needs to be on the sincerity of your conversion and baptism, not on the amount of knowledge you had or the period of distance you had from God. I would also bring this to your pastor or close mentor if you have not done so already. They, knowing you better, can give personal wisdom in this area.

As I said in the video, I think Scripture teaches that a believer's baptism should only be done once. I didn't want to, since I had been baptized as an infant I figured that was enough, but the elders and leadership said I had to, reasoning that baptizing infants was more like a dedication (which is what Baptists do), so I caved in I suppose all denominations have opinions based on scripture. but I would caution people if they had been sprinkled and marked or dedicated to God, it ight not help them in the longer term. My folks ensured that all of their children were baptized, but my brothers fell away from the faith over a decade ago now. I am fully aware you only to be Baptized once, and I have never really thought much more about it. But I am not doing that any more times.

Hello Davy, I understand your concern and desire. However, Scripture does not teach that you have to be baptized in order to be filled with the Holy Spirit. If that was the case, they you should have been filled the first time you were baptized. Instead, the filling of the Holy Spirit happens at the moment of salvation. If you want the Spirit, then you must "confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).

Thank you. I have been baptised twice and 'was' looking to do a 3rd time. Why? Pride. I want to be seen to be 'doing' something holy because I haven't (don't) live the life 'I' consider 'the fruits worthy of repentance'. Sounds ok on the surface but again its pride in what I have done (can do). We are saved because of what Christ Jesus has done, we are sanctified because of what the Holy Spirit is doing. Everything is God's work alone, it's a complete work. Repentance is actually a fruit not a work, Jesus said 'you can tell a tree by its fruit'. Therefore, I don't need to be baptised, I just need to surrender, which leads to repentance, and believe 'upon' Jesus Christ, which leads to true life.

What if you were going to Israel and wanted to be baptized in the Jordan River? Would it be wrong to do it again?
@RyanPauly4 жыл бұрын
That's a good question. I would apply the same reasoning to that situation. I don't think I would say it is wrong in a way that condemns everyone who has done it. I know some really smart Christians who have done it. However, I wouldn't get baptized again. I don't think that baptism is tied to location where the Jordan river becomes more special. I also think it could be seen as a commercialized event that takes away from the beauty of the sacrament. Some may disagree and find it more special, but I don't. We often only tell people that we were baptized because that is what is most important. It seems like the reason for some to get baptized a second time in the Jordan is to say that they were baptized in the Jordan as if that is more special. Again, this is not true of everyone, but since I believe we should only get baptized once, I would not be re-baptized in the Jordan.
@RyanPauly4 жыл бұрын
I asked a friend for his thoughts, and I think he said it well. Here was his comment. "Probably the main thing I would say is that it subverts the purpose of baptism. The sacrament signifies a one time event of dying and rising-identifying with Jesus’ one time dying and rising. What Jesus said to the Samaritan woman in John 4 means it doesn’t matter which mountain we worship in-and maybe we could add, what body of water we’re baptized in, as long as the Spirit is present and it we are joined to Christ through faith. So yeah, I think it undercuts the significance of baptism and turns it into holy tourism."

Acts 19 1 5 read those verses baptized twice Acts 19:1-5 King James Version 19 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. 4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

How can i get the holy spirit?? Guide me. As well as how can I get the blessing of praying in tongues???
@RyanPauly4 жыл бұрын
Those are good questions. I think that Epheisians 1:13 and Romans 8:9 suggest that believers have the Holy Spirit and non-belivers do not. There are other verses as well. This would mean that you will receive the Holy Spirit at the moment of conversion. Christians will disagree on your second question. However, I do think Scripture is clear on a few points. First, 1 Corinthians 12:11 clearly states that the Holy Spirit gives the gifts as he wills. They are not something we get by doing a certain action. We only get the gift of tongues if the Holy Spirit desires for us to have it. Second, 1 Corinthians 12:8-10 states that not everyone receives the same gifts. You may never get the gift of tongues. The Holy Spirit may give you a different gift. This is also supported by 1 Corinthians 12:30 where it suggests that not everyone speaks with tongues. My application of this is to pray that the Holy Spirit empowers me and fills me to do the work that God has called me to do. I will be thankful for the gifts that I have been given, rather than always desiring gifts that I don't have. To me, continuing to seek and pray for the gift of tongues rather than being grateful for the gifts I have been given, would seem to be a form of envy.

Truly become repentant of your sins. When you repent this means that you are truly willing to not go back to doing the sinful things you were doing, and you become remorseful in God's sight. When God knows in your heart that you are deeply willing to stop sinning, He sends His Spirit down upon you which is The Holy Spirit. And you will know this is His Holy Spirit in you because you're not going to have the desires to sin willingly no more! Hope this was helpful and I'm truly hoping someday that you can allow this beautiful blessing descend upon you!🕊💫

What do you mean by "full belief?" No one has a full belief when they are baptized. We are constantly learning more and knowing God more fully.

I was 6 and I did it because I was afraid of going to hell and I wanted to be saved... as an adult id like to get baptized as a 30 year old man just to make a public declare with full maturity

Just have a friend baptized you next time y'all go swimming. Why not, there's no Biblical requirements on who can and who can't baptize someone.

Preaching once saved always saved is a false gospel according to Paul in 2 Corinthians 11:3-4. Paul says it’s a different gospel and a Jesus altogether. It’s the same lie the serpent told Eve in the garden - you can sin and not die. The majority of Christianity has been fooled by the same exact lie. Jesus tells us in Matthew 18:23-35 of a man who lost his salvation after he had already been forgiven. In John 15:6 he tells us what happens to Christians who don’t continue in obedience - they are cut off wither and are burned. Please wake up!

How does 2 Corinthians 11:3-4 apply to once saved always saved? How am I preaching a different Jesus? How am I leading people away from a pure devotion to Christ?
@abideintheWord4 жыл бұрын
Ryan Pauly OSAS is the same lie the serpent told Eve - surely you won’t die if you sin. People who preach this false doctrine preach the same lie of the serpent - that a “true” believer can sin and surely he won’t die. It’s the oldest lie in mankind and it’s simply been repackaged and rebranded today as “eternal security”. As Ecclesiastes says - there really isn’t anything new under the sun.
@RyanPauly4 жыл бұрын
@@abideintheWord I understand you keep making that claim. Could you show me how it is the same lie? How am I preaching a different Jesus? In your view, how often do you need to be re-saved to go to heaven? After every sin?
@abideintheWord4 жыл бұрын
Ryan Pauly in John chapter 15, Jesus says what we must do to avoid being cut off. He commands us to abide in Him. Then He tells us what happens if we as Christians fail to continue with Him or “abide” in Him in John 15:6 - we are cut off, wither, and are burned. Keep in mind these are Christians for two reasons - 1) he is talking directly to His disciples telling them they must abide in Him or face these consequenses, and 2) in verse 5 right before it Jesus tells us plainly who exactly are the branches - his disciples or Christians. Then the very next verse he tells them what will happen if they don’t abide (aka continue) with Him. What does it mean to abide? Well he tells us - keeping his commands (verse 10).

@@abideintheWord I don't disagree with this John one bit. We must remain in Christ. The objection that you are raising about sinning and not remaining in Christ was addressed by Paul in Romans 6. Paul addresses it here because he knows it is the main objection to preaching a saved by faith and not works gospel. I appreciate your comment, but I don't think a KZbin comment section is the place to solve this church debate that has lasted for centuries. I really wish we could sit down face to face and better understand each other and dive into Scripture together. There are many verses that seem to support what you are saying, but there are also verses on the other side. This is why it has been a debate in the church for so long. I was mainly surprised about your point of this being a salvific issue rather than an in-house debate. Calling me out for preaching as false gospel couldn't be further from the truth, and it harms the larger church. We must recognize where an in-house debate is and join together in reaching the lost. Tearing down Christians for preaching a false gospel when it isn't true does damage to the church. This goes for every other non-salvific issue as well.

What if I was baptized in catholic and I don’t want to be catholic anymore I want to be Christian should I get baptized Christian again?
@RyanPauly4 жыл бұрын
Protestants sometimes disagree on this one. I would say that re-baptism would be appropriate in this case, especially with only a child baptism. I think Scripture teaches that baptism follow from a profession of faith. So, it would depend on whether you had faith in Christ when you were baptized catholic.

Read scripture..infant baptism was done in who.e households! No one said a “ sinners prayer or dedicated themselves to Christ “. Once u r baptized catholic u remain in the one true Church that was established 2,000 years ago. Not a man made religion, the Catholic Church is apostolic, holy, and the fullness of Christ. Read book of Acts16:15;33 18:8,11:14 St. Paul baptized entire household in city of Corinth (1Cor1:16) Read the early Church, early Church fathers, all in harmony with scripture. Making a one time declaration of accepting Jesus is an Evangelical doctrine.all different..baptism is a wonderful, permanent place in the Catholic Church..please don’t leave..I will help u with any questions or problems u have with our faith. I hope to hear from u. In God’s love! Gina

@@ginaanelli9717 You are right. Catholics are Christians. People often talk about the difference between Catholics and Christian instead of the more accurate Catholics and Protestants. Christian is the umbrella term that includes both Catholics and Protestants.

I BELIEVE Your question was incorrect WE ARE ALL BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN JESUS .THE RELIGION ARE MAKING FOR MENS NOT FOR THE LORD GOD. IT'S TO MANY REASONS WHY I DON'T BELIEVE IN ANY RELIGION. IS TIME FOR EVERYONE TO LOOK FOR THE LORD IS THE ONLY TRUE WE HAVE TO FOLLOW IT'S ONLY ONE GOD AND THE ONLY RELIGION WE HAVE TO FOLLOW IS THE BIBLE. THAT IS THE ONLY TRUE THE REST IS NOT THE WORD OF GOD. ALL THE DIFERENT RELIGIONS ARE MAKING FOR MENS FOR HIS ON CONVINION. IS NOT THE WORD OF GOD. EVERYONE NEEDS TO PRAY THE LORD ALMIGHTY AND ASKIND FOR WISDON ASKING FOR THE TRUTH TO BE PREPARE FOR THE RETURN OF JESUS'S HE IS COMING SOON
