Yes- I have taken loratadine to prevent bone pain during both. I took it during neoadjuvant chemo when I received neulasta injections and now in the post adjuvant setting to prevent bone pain while taking my ai- letrozole. Have had no bone pain. It seems to work so I will continue taking to prevent this unwanted side effect!

Loratadine was helpful in reducing bone pain during my chemo treatments but took several weeks to take effect. I have osteoarthritis already and am experiencing bone pain post chemo while taking estrogen blockers now. I will begin taking Claritin again thank you for the advice.

Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s helpful to know that loratadine worked for you over time, and it’s great that you’re considering it again for the bone pain with estrogen blockers. Hoping it brings some relief for you this time as well!

White patches all over the body after surgery, markers her2 ER ki67 p53.... Is this the sign of skin metastasis??
@yerbba23 күн бұрын
White patches are not typically a sign of skin metastasis but could indicate a range of other issues, such as skin irritation or conditions unrelated to cancer. It's essential to consult your oncologist or dermatologist to get a clear diagnosis.

This is helpful info. I used to take Claritin for allergies and I have food allergies so maybe it would also help with that. Thank you!

my oncologist recommended Claritin for bone pain caused by Nyvepria injection after each round of chemo. i took Claritin for 5 days after taking Nyvepria injections but did not notice a decrease in my moderately severe bone pain. I tried alternating ibuprofen and tylenol. used arnica salve and tincture applications. nothing helped as much as Tramadol. and thank God Tramadol helped!
@yerbbaАй бұрын
Thanks for sharing all the approaches you've tried. Managing bone pain can be so challenging, especially with Nyvepria. It’s great to hear that Tramadol was able to provide relief when other methods didn’t quite work. Wishing you continued relief as you move forward!

I was given injections during chemo.I was given panadene for pain.Its helps.
@yerbbaАй бұрын
It sounds like those injections made a big difference for you during chemotherapy. It’s wonderful that Panadeine (for our other viewers, this is acetaminophen, also called Tylenol or paracetamol) helped you manage the pain-finding something that works is so important.

If Claritin works to help reduce pain, do you think Allegra or Zyrtec may have same effect? Thank you
@yerbbaАй бұрын
Recent data from 2024 shows that allergy medications other than Claritin do not offer the same benefit.

My mom has pain in her thigh region and lower back since few months after the lumpectomy. She got clear CT scan reports last month. Her ALP was 150 . Is this something to worry about. ?
@yerbbaАй бұрын
With a clear CT scan, that’s reassuring, but it’s always worth following up with her doctor about persistent symptoms and the slightly elevated ALP. They might suggest additional monitoring or tests to rule out any other causes. Wishing her relief and comfort!

Thanks for this information. I’m on Anastrozole for life. I take an antihistamine, currently Montelukst, for nasal congestion. I did take Loratadine prior, but stopped because it is an anticholinergic medication and was concerned about memory loss on that. I guess it might be smart to go back on Loratadine short term to see if it reduces my pain.
@yerbbaАй бұрын
Switching back to Loratadine short-term could indeed help with pain relief while you assess if it affects memory or cognitive function. It’s always best to check with your doctor too, especially with the long-term use of anastrozole. Hoping you find something that brings you relief.

very useful information. is it certain that loratidine did not reduce the effectiveness of the aromatase inhibitor
@yerbbaАй бұрын
Glad you found the information useful! Studies have not shown that loratadine reduces the effectiveness of aromatase inhibitors, so it’s generally considered safe. You can confirm with your oncologist if you have any concerns.

At 72, I’ve taken Letrozole for 26mos. and finally caved in. The muscle and body aches just took over. My oncologist suggested trying 2wks off and then 2wks on. Call to let him know my symptoms and he will change. This is totally ridiculous, my symptoms are returning. I’m ready for something else.
@yerbbaАй бұрын
It’s tough to manage those side effects, especially after being on letrozole for so long. Taking breaks can sometimes help, but it sounds like you’re ready for a different approach. Your oncologist might have alternative options that could ease the muscle and body aches. Switching to another aromatase inhibitor is often a viable option!

@yerbbaАй бұрын
You’re welcome! Joint pain can indeed be a side effect of aromatase inhibitors, which may explain your hip discomfort. You can find more about AI side effects in our video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqasYqB5f7pllbc

Dear Dr Griggs, what if I have massage for my head or neck arms, is any massage to body contribute to cancer spreads? Thank you ❤❤❤
@yerbbaАй бұрын
Massage therapy generally does not contribute to cancer spreading. In fact, gentle massage can help with stress relief and improve overall well-being during cancer treatment. However, it’s always a good idea to discuss massage therapy with your oncologist, especially if you have specific areas of concern like recent surgery or lymph node involvement. Wishing you comfort and care!

We're so sorry you’re experiencing such severe pain with letrozole. Definitely let your oncologist know-they may have other options or ways to manage the side effects. There are three different aromatase inhibitors and also tamoxifen.
