Unmesh will release his own photo-editing software one day, just called "Curves.", with only one type of adjustment layer available (you guessed it :P). And he'll prove that it's just as powerful as everything else on the market. Love your work man.

I still remember in one of your hue/saturation videos where you said at the end - "Don't just learn 2+2=4, master addition instead... Hey Unmesh, greetings from Greece! I just HAVE to tell you how much i appreciate the work you've done. I've been watching both new and old videos of your channel and i must say, you've steadily improved on how well you've talked to the camera, making us feel like you're really in front of us teaching exactly how to do thigns. You really start from Point A to go to Point B, showing us exactly how to do stuff. What i mean, you explain things so nicely, we don't have to know absolutely everything already on how to do things with every different detail of Photoshop's features! Personally i trully appreciate this, because it helps me understand exactly how to achieve whatever you are teaching in every video you upload! Big thanks, have a good day!

Great fun, and a little silly. Thanks for being honest about the difficulty to apply this to natural images with thousands of colors rather than graphics with only a few colors. I'd also point out that if the original change is a hue adjustment, then a single adjustment of the hue slider will match it, rather than multiple curves adjustments. Still, it's amazing how well doing it the hard way with curves can work for a few colors. Also, for any commenters who seem to have misunderstood that the hue adjustment is based on curves, it isn't. It is based on equations where each primary color is replaced by a mixture of that primary and another primary, rather than adjusting only the amount of that one primary (as curves does). To make a hue adjustment of a complex image manually, you would use the RGB channels and calculations. Fortunately, Photoshop does this for you with the hue slider.
@carolynvines20273 жыл бұрын
Seems we could get rid of the hue/saturation sliders; but do we want to. I believe, in many cases, it's going to be much more convenient than curves. Well, he does say this in the end; and, for me, this was an interesting and educational video.

Here's a curves-y question that seems appropriate for this video: is there an easy way to limit a curves adjustment layer to only affect certain colors (with good precision, like within the yellows and greens of a nature scene), without having to manually create multiple layers and masks? That's when I'd normally have to use things like saturation masks and hue/sat layers. I feel like I want to use the horizontal curves technique in conjunction with something like I'm describing to make some magic, but I can't quite put it all together.
@musography69583 жыл бұрын
I think you could create a selection based on colours and then make a curves adjustment of that selection only
