In some versions of btd4 there is an optional ‘upgrade’ that you can select in the menus similar to buildings in btd5 which makes the darts explode. With this it is possible to beat hard only using spike piles for camo bloons.

11:09 if you want to pop the MOAB, your best bet in that case would be to spam road spikes in front of the MOAB, especially with as much money as you had laying around. each one deals 10 damage to the MOAB for $30, so you easily could have popped the MOAB layer with that and let your dart monkeys do cleanup.

Yeah you're right, once I failed with my own attempts, I should've been willing to use road items to beat the games. My goal was to only use them when they were necessary to pop leads, and I know I could've easily beaten the second game by just using the glue as well. i think you were too scared to use road spikes in btd2 and btd3. they're super useful and definitely would've helped you pop the moab, even the speedrun uses them for moabs

Oh I agree 100%, especially with the 2nd game, I could've been successful if I used the road items more. Glue in that game is super powerful. 0:25 correction, you can retry your last round and continue on from there, but you won't receive a black border on the map for beating CHIMPS after using a retry, you only earn the gold border

Just so you know, you can restart Chimps from the round you failed whenever you want. Oddly, it is the only mode in which continuing this way is completely free.

Edit: I think I remember them mentioning now that the reason they did it was because content creators exclusively played Chimps in the challenge editor to avoid needing to restart while doing challenges for videos. So now regular Chimps has free restarts from last round but doing this does not give you a black border.

In btd4, triple shot has pierce, and it doesn't add any projectiles but increase pierce and projectile size. Also, the splody darts prenium upgrades can pop lead bloons.

Dart Monkey Positioning is more important than Dart Monkey Coverage. Even when not using spike-o-naut you want to be taking full advantage of pierce.

Since you have allowed "road items" to be used, then it means that it IS possible to beat btd2 with only dart monkey - you need to use glue item, that only appears on the track, which makes it possible to win that game mode.

On btd3, wouldnt it be better to use road spikes on the moab at the very start? That way all of the dart monkeys will get way more value out of their pierce. Also if i remember correctly, glue was absurdly overpowered, if you used those on the ceramics that would do amazing as well

Update: I don't think round 71 is possible ): For context: it has 10 moabs The best single target is lvl2 darts, that can only damage 2 at a time, so it is essencially 5 individual moabs, unless I want to spam spike-o-pults, that cost twice as much, so I get half as much, that won't beat BFBs. The only way I can see to get out of the round is to somehow pop the moabs and then autoclicker pinaple spam the insides, which is very cheesy and sad (and even still hard)

btd2 is very easy if you use glue but some people think its also a tower, i think that glue is not a tower but some people may disagree :additional note here I'm 50/50 on on glue being a tower or not but idk.

Yea I consider it a road item instead of a tower because it's one use and in the later games, all of the road items became projectiles for towers as well. So I don't think the road items themselves can be considered Towers. But my goal was to only use the road items when they're necessary, I think I might do a followup to this where I allow myself to use road items though
