Yes they can but it takes ages to go through court!

I have been taken to Scottish County court twice over past 12 months. On the first occasion PRA Group took used a Simple Court Procedure chasing me for £5400. I offered £1. I filled out the form and explained my circumstances. I didn't provide any proof. PRA Group accepted £1 a month and a CCJ was issued. I will pay a £1 month for the rest of my life. On the second occasion American Express took me to court. After filling in a time to pay direction - American Express abandoned court action, decided to stop chasing me for the debt and 'partially settled the debt'. I am still £40 000 in total debt and not frightened of being taken to court. However I am in rented social housing and own no car.

Can a debt collector come after one because of £50.

They will come after you for any amount. It depends upon whom you owe the money to. If a big corporation they have enough money to chase up the debt.

Yes then also ramp up the amount owed in fees

We can stop most debt collectors by us using the law and simply writing a few letters, watch the 'debt' videos on these KZbin channels; observation deck, sovereign empowerment, Richard vobes. And a great book that helps is The Title is Unimportant by Paul Michael Yates ;)
