I never cease to be amazed at how articulately and efficiently the swami explains such complex ambiguous concepts. What he's explaining in this clip is that the root of procrastination or addiction or many negative actions. And the idea that even if we refuse the thought the thought will still bubble and be in consciousness until it's expressed. I've never thought of it that way but it's absolutely true. Wonderful teaching, thank you so much.

Nirvana is the 'extinguishment of the flame of desire'. Desires will persist as long as the 'individual I', the Ego, exists. The root of desire is the 'finite trying to regain to its original infinite state'. The Individual Ego limits the manifestation of the Infinite within the finite dimensions of the Physical Body and Mind. The Infinite is continuously trying to burst out from imprisonment within the walls of the body and mind. The finite hence desires to grow to the infinite. These desires are manifested in the outgoing body, mind and sense organs. But for the finite to attain to the infinite, there are infinite desires. Infinite desires can never be fulfilled through a finite body. Desires will hence persist until the Ego is dissolved and the Infinite rests in its true nature. Excellent Said by Pujya Swami Ji. However the Main topic is can we kill desires ? The Self Enquiry and Self knowledge helps. It is slightly difficult to understand and keep on practicing regularly till the mind is completely satisfied and doesn't keeps on craving for desires every now and then and also an important part of Self Realization. The Key is the Self knowledge which says how long I am going to keep on fulfilling my desires. Even if I get all pleasures of the world some day I have to leave it and go ! In that case I better focus on something which is permanent and I don't have to keep on fulfilling and that is the knowledge that after the body dies there is something more superior to the best of the best things in the world and that is the Aatman or Bramhan which is permanent. As already mentioned by Pujya Swami Ji in his several lectures from time to time ! Once this thought and knowledge is perceived and understood the seeker keeps on churning or recollecting this thought both when the mind is already calm relaxed and pleasant and also in the adverse condition when it is trying to go back to it's old habit of bubbling up desires. So completeness or I am complete, not dependent on any materialistic thing not even mental or emotional support from somebody and so on and even if the body dies I don't die. Because a Pure Soul or Shudh Aatman is never Born. And an individual is born just because some or many desires in the past life are not fulfilled. So A pure Soul is complete always satisfied never dependent on anything for it's existence and I am that Soul and not This body ! Initially because of previous past karma habit's mind may forget this powerful self knowledge and again start generating or fulfilling desires, but by regular practice and meditation and also by staying in touch with yogic I mean Self knowledge lectures along with practically seeing it with circumstances and situations coming in life like ancestors leaving the body and going. Our own hair's growing grey and so on and so forth. The confidence in to Texts, scriptures and talks by Swami Ji about mortal world and objects and permanent Aatman or Bramhan increases. Before sanskar becomes surface thought(vritti) there is a small window of oppurtunity.......yogi can actually see this or becomes aware of this and substitutes this bad though with a good one....this good thought now becomes a vritti...action.....and samskar.

I THEN TOLD HIM THAT THE BIBLE IS THE ONLY INSPIRED WORD OF GOD. I TOLD HIM THAT GOD IN THE BIBLE STATE NOT TO MAKE ANY IMAGES OF HIM AND DID HE HAVE ANY IDEA WHY GOD SAYS THAT. OBVIOUSLY HE DIDN'T HAVE ANY IDEA BECAUSE IF HE DID HE WOULDN'T BE A HINDU. I THEN TOLD HIM THE REASON WHY GOD TELLS US NOT TO MAKE ANY IMAGES OF HIM. IS BECAUSE THE DEVIL AND THE FALLEN ANGELS HAVE THE ABILITY TO TAKE MANY SHAPES AND FORMS. I THEN TOLD HIM THIS IS WHERE ALL THE GREEK AND ROMAN gods CAME FROM, AND ALSO ALL THE HINDU gods CAME FROM. WHICH WAS THE DEVIL AND THE LEGIONS OF ANGEL THAT FELL FROM HEAVEN MANIFESTING THEMSELVES IN THE FLESH. I ALSO QUOTED EXODUS 20:4 “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:” King James Version (KJV) THEN HIS FOLLOWERS (STUPID LOST WHITE PEOPLE ) CAME OUT OF THE BUILDING TO GREET HIM. WHEN THEY HEARD THE CONVERSATION I WAS HAVING WITH THE SWAMI THAT ALL THE HINDU gods WERE THE DEVIL SATAN MANIFESTING HIMSELF IN THE FLESH AND HOW THE HINDU gods CAME INTO EXISTENCE. THEY STARTED PULLING THE SWAMI AWAY FROM ME TELLING HIM THE TRUTH THAT THE HINDU RELIGION CAME FROM THE DEVIL SATAN HER/HIMSELF. LOOK AT WHAT THE CHRISTIANS AND JEWS HAVE ACCOMPLISHED. SINCE GOD IS THE INFINITE WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE. THIS INFINITE WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE IS COMING THROUGH THE PEOPLE OF THE BIBLE BEING BOTH CHRISTIANS AND JEWS. THE MODERN WORLD OF ELECTRICITY, CELL PHONES, COMPUTERS, CARS, PLANES AND THIS LIST IS ENDLESS. COMES FROM THE PEOPLE OF THE BIBLE. IF HINDUISM OR ANY OF THE OTHER RELIGIONS HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE CREATOR GOD WHO IS CHRIST HIMSELF. THEN IT WOULD BE THEM BRINGING FORTH THE MODERN WONDERS OF THE TECHNOLOGICAL WORLD. THE FACT THAT IT IS NOT THEM. CLEARLY SHOWS YOU THOSE RELIGIONS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH GOD. WHICH ONLY CONCLUDES ONE THING THAT THEY CAME FROM THE DEVIL HIM/HERSELF.
