He's an elite, complete NFL RB who more often delivers the hits than takes them (if the D can even touch him at all before he's 5 yards past the LoS). Commentators are underplaying all the good players that are coming back for the Lions over the next few weeks. So, same élite offense and most of the starters or good depth at least will be back on D. We might not see the Lions lose another game until next season.

It’s a realistic take. The defense has not been “great”. It took max effort, going for it on 4th down, a trick play and 2 unexpected turnovers to beat a team on a 9 game losing streak. The D is outperforming their talent level against the weakest part of their schedule. I’m happy as hell they’re doing that but questioning if it will continue is not disrespectful or offensive. Rams, Packers, Eagles and Vikings are all as capable as the Bills of ruining our season.

@ 27th in sacks and dead last by a lot since Hutch went down. 12th in YPCarry and 27th in YPReception. 19th in YPG. 31st in pass plays of 20 yards or more. 18th in rushing TD’s. In my opinion these stats are important and the Vikings and other NFC playoff contenders are game planning for these obvious weaknesses. Because of our offense the Lions have the LEAST number of defensive plays in the NFL. I’m proud of what AG and the defense have done given the circumstances but they are being saved by the offense and cannot reasonably be considered a great defense.

1:59 ifeatu melifonwu is the difference maker weve been missing since hutch. Obviously hes not as impactful as hutch and a whole different position, but he does things nobody else can do for us - namely pressure the qb several times a game every time he plays. He was our ace down the stretch last year and looks to replicate it this year by not playing all year cuz of injuries. He had 3 qb pressures and a sack after 3 days practice all season. Also had 0 completions against and 2 stops. I think is truly the mvp of the secondary bcuz he opens branch up to play more of a star role like he did in college.

Coaches and players who were with the team last season had this rematch circled before they got in the shower after the NFC Championship. They have been on a revenge tour this season, addressing past losses but this one is special. My hope is they don't get too amped up. It's gonna be a tussle and the Lions defense is beat to hell but they are gonna leave it all on the field. Let's see where that takes em. As everyone should know, the Lions were eliminated earlier that day by Seattle and were only playing for pride. They decisively beat the Packers in that game. Jrm coming back I believe this week, anzalone could play if they really needed it. They said he could wear a sleeve and play but they are letting him heal so he's 100% for the playoffs. The real spots they need are that second DT spot, and probably another edge. Muhammad has been decent in the pass rush. But I would love another guy for passing downs so when Smith moves inside, they have two viable rushers. Paschal just isn't a rush end. Solid as a first and second down end. Possibly both can be answered by one team in Miami. If they get eliminated the Calais Campbell sweepstakes will be huge. And there's no reason not to take a shot on Shaq barret. If they are able to bring in both those guys the defense looks pretty solid, especially if CDiii can return late in the playoffs as well
