Can Eagles QB Jalen Hurts Recapture His MVP Form?

I am amazed how complicated they are making this entire Hurts situation. In a nutshell. His best season, he was RPO one read QB....that is it. There was nothing else. Now, defenses have found a way to stop that. Ok. So the coaches need him to become a drop back full field read QB. Guess what? He hasn't advanced to a drop back full field read QB. Who is at fault for he lack of development? Hurts and the coaches.

Only a handful of athletes can develop that skill. Every QB in the NFL gets great coaching but only 10% of those drafted are good.

Right on the money if anyone needs proof who Jalen really is watch the buccaneers game just one read everything short and then scrambles that’s it he can’t read defenses he’s been found out this offense needs a Quarterback to spread the ball I think he’s gonna hold us back we’ll see how it goes he still has the rest of the season

Exactly he's been playing that way since high school. Now all of a sudden he's going to develop into a pocket passer. They've tried so many times trying to convert these types of QBs into pocket passers. I don't think anyone of them has worked out. He is what he is at this point. Guy can't get to the second read, can't throw a guy open, can't throw a quick slant, can't throw over the middle, can't throw accurately on the run, can't throw a wheel route and can't throw a screen pass without getting it knocked down so we have no screen game. OTHER THAN THAT HE'S NOT BAD!

@johnlicciardello2389 I agree. But Hurts has something that can't be coached, athleticism. Hurts can learn to read coverages pre-snap, post-snap, and get through his progressions if he chooses to do so. There have been QBs with the ability to do so, but they weren't capable physically. Hurts is the opposite. Anyone can learn. Maybe his teachers aren't good enough. But ultimately, it is up to Hurts to learn.

I’m a diehard Eagles fan since I was five years old and I’m autistic. I have been defending hurts for a couple years. I don’t think we will ever see the 2022 version of him again. The guy is long gone. 27 turnovers in his last 22 games dating back to last season. He is number two in the league in turnovers behind will levis. I believe we have seen the best of Jalen hurts and that was two years ago.

You guys make me laugh. Jalen Hurts is 26 years old. He is at the height of his athleticism, not declining!!!! He's just dumb. They used to give him one read because that's all he can understand. Throw to AJ or if covered, throw to Smitty. He can't do much else. When they are injured, he's no better than Marcus Mariota. Coach Sirianni is going out of his way to take the blame for what is obviously quarterback incompetence.

Jalen is showing you he can't win consistently unless ypu take the ball out of his hands. I swear if they said okay the next game we are gonna just hand the ball off every play. I think they win that game but Barkley would be hurt so fast. If your even a average "running" QB and i give you Barkley. There is no reason you shouldn't atleast compete. I truly think as of right now Jalen is 15th-20th best qb right now. I think they will still beat some bad teams but if you make it to the playoffs and turn the ball over 3-4 times with your bad defense. Then your gonna get spanked. I still dont understand how the Packers managed to lose that game😂 The problem is Eagles fans are kinda delusional and they will be upset this week and say its over but then their next game they can get lucky and barely win by one point and their like omg we are back! Jalen and Nick just saved their jobs and they start talking smack. Then a week or few later it happens again and they restart omg Jalen sucks, omg fire Nick now and repeat. Dont shoot the messenger but i think their is 20 qbs that you could put on that team with Barkley and have a great season. Leave Mahomes out of it but they would have said Eagles are right there with Bengals Bills Ravens 49ers Etc Okay so they was great before but you add a star like Barkley "omg that puts them over the other guys" Yet they look even worse😂 I swear Barkley is the only reason they arent 0-4. So to me that shows they were never a top 5 team without Barkley. Heck even with him carrying the team. I think they would be lucky to be a top 15 team. So you got a "bad" team like Dallas who literally did nothing in the offseason besides lose talent and i think if they played today with their guys healthy its a 50/50 game. Jalen has to shoulder alot of the blame but we also knew Kellen Moore was a bad coordinator too. Omg he is creative😂 Yea he is the genius that had that embarrassing play for Dallas vs 49ers where zeke played center and got killed. I mean for Eagles fans just go ahead and give up this year and maybe next year. If i was yall i would immediately try and find a new offensive coordinator, head coach, and QB. Its gonna be tough but its some good backup QBs you could prolly get cheap

@Justaguylivingonearth To be clear, I'm not anti-Howie. I'm just making the observation that right now, it looks like we are witnessing a repeat of what happened a few years ago. I think that's more on coaches and players than the GM. Many of Howie's decisions made sense at the time, even if they didn't pan out in the end.

Hurts has 5 pro bowl players on his offense. Last year he had 6 pro bowl players on his offense. What other team in the NFL has this much talent?? Hurts stinks. If he had an average level of talent he would be a bottom 5 QB
