Hi Abhishek, Can you please explain, without earthing how leakage current will flow. I think without earthing,the body of mo motor or JB will be in charged condition and if someone comes in contact of it,the leakage current will flow through the body and the ELCB will trip if leakage current is more than 30 ma.Prior to this the body will be in charged condition as there is no path for leakage current to flow and the ELCB will not trip.Please analyse and revert me back. Thank you.

Now a days only RCCB used... for ELCB you need a earth connection for that unit(ELCB),..But for RCCB you don't need a separate earth..I think Mr.Abishek Joshy was explaining about RCCB only...still 90% of people using ELCB instead of RCCB... pls. Comment
