I am a Chinese MTG player, and within my playgroup, few people play the Pauper format. However, all Pauper players refer to the Rakdos Madness deck as "Mengu's Madness." A few months ago, Mengu showcased this deck in an episode of his MTGO Pauper Veedeo, and it quickly became popular in the Pauper community around me.

You DO have to pay madness costs before drawing the card with blood token. Discarding is a cost which seeks to put the madness trigger on the stack. Madness trigger goes on top of the card draw activated ability

Looking at the decklists, I'm disappointed Tommy doesn't have Nyxborn Hydras in his deck. That's what makes Elves so decent in our current Pauper metagame right now :c Elvish Vanguard wouldn't be enough because no Trample.

Hi Mengu! I' m so glad Tommy brought the tuk tuk in my favourite deck!!! Very good plays for you Mengu!! I think Tommy should shave off some fyndhorns and bring in the Hydras :)). At my lgs when i play elves i have a 75% and more winrate against madness, once you play a 4/5 hydra all their flying creature are basically lost. Probably with a more updated decklist the match here would have been less fun

Completely agree with you, I also play elves.. Against madness and monored if they have a lot of bolts it' s not that easy.. I also play a couple of Rift sower for colored mana . It feels the same rate to me, but it's still very tight, there are some unlucky spots where elves it's very behind. Anyways , Let's beat them💪🏻!!

9:10 I believe the blood token states that you discard a card and draw a card. Because of this you will finish the effect of the blood token discarding the kitchen imp into exile. Then after you've drawn you may decide to cast from exile or let it go to the graveyard.

Nope, paying mana, tapping the token, sacrificing it and discarding a card is the cost. Drawing a card is the effect (indicated by the text before or after ":") You pay the cost and put the ability onto the stack. Paying the cost trigger the madness trigger. We put The madness trigger onto the stack on top of the draw ability.

9:11 The important detail of the madness ability is that it is a trigger that goes onto the stack when a relevant card is discarded into exile. It won't actually be put onto the stack until the current effect (the blood token) finishes resolving. Then you may decide to cast the exiled card. TL;DR: No, you do not need to pay the madness cost immediately Edit: so, I got this a bit backwards actually, if the discarded card is part of a cost, the trigger will go on the stack on top of the spell, if it is part of a spell's effect, it will go on the stack the next time a player has priority

It still blows my mind how absolutely bizarre the Elves deck is. Your opp could have nigh on infinite mana turn like 3 and I would bet an elves deck could keep up just fine without a wrath.
