Evan probably has the highest disparity between the results of his best and worst performance. There aren't many guys who could just as easily challenge for a podium spot vs. not make the final. I think the only person who's even close in that category is Wide Pavlo.

@Nuke Is-Rah-Hell Oh, I know. And in 2019 he was screwed by having to do the stone-off against Trey, even though he was seven points ahead of him. It's just crazy that in four years he has placed first and third, but failed to reach the finals two times. I'm really hoping he doesn't get screwed again this year.

I really want Evan to do well. He's had such bad luck at World's, but you're right - if he can learn to turn his aggression on and, crucially, off, he's going to be a real threat to the other competitors. He won't be seeded highly, I should imagine, and NOBODY will want him in their group!

You have a point. However, Tom has said that he prefers the heat as being warm is good for performance and there's reduced risk of cooling down (which is a cause for injuries). As long as the athletes are hydrated and stay in the AC tents they will be provided, everything will be perfectly fine.

Evan is a bit of a Travis Ortmeier where he's extremely capable but he's crazy high energy, and I love the Texas Stoneman so I really mean that as a compliment but where his head is at is going to determine if he's in the top 5 or if he collapses in on himself. Probably not because there’s only a few guys who are in contention for the title & he’s definitely not one of them given his record compared to the others. That & he also overestimates himself too much, he’s way shorter than he claims (190 cm at most not 199 cm) & he couldn’t win WSM or even podium if he were competing in the past because the weights then actually weren’t extremely light, a 160 kg log press in 1980 isn’t light, especially when considering it was extremely unbalanced.
